shift indicator?
being a truely narotic individual I set my shift indicator for 3500 not wanting to exceede 4000 rpm. (an almost impossible task i might add). the light is preety accurate on shifts from 1-2 less so from 2-3 and after that it lights up any where from 2900 t0 3500 usally in to low 3000 area. Is this suppose to happen for a reason ( I don't know mabey its anticipating the rate of acceleration or wants me to shift earlier on highr gears {I know it dosen't make sence but..}
I don't have the car yet, but I think it's supposed to start flashing like 400 rpm or so before the rpm that you set in the computer. Once you reach the set rpm, the light goes solid. You might want to program for 4000 rpm even.
The exact way it works should be in your car manual. Or you can search for the pdf 350z manual online (posted here somewhere).
Congrats on getting your car!!

The manual says it starts flashing 500 RPM before the set RPM, then goes steadily on at the set RPM. So you don't need to set it for 3500, set it for 4000 and you will get the warning ahead of time. I think it may not correspond exactly with the needle because the needle take some time to sweep up the dial and may lag behind the actual RPM.
