Insurance
I'm a seventeen year old male, in FL.
I've called unitrin, trust way, and progressive. Out of those three the cheapest is 465.13 a month, which is outrageous.
I can afford 416.13 a month but thats quite the jump from 250.00 with my envoy.
So my question for y'all (please don't flame) is if you guys know somewhere I can find it a little cheaper.

You're 17. You want to drive a high powered sports car with a proven track record of being a bad risk with young drivers. You want to complain about insurance cost. Prepare to be flamed - most people here who have seen their insurance cost rise over the last 6 years blame it on young drivers.
I'm surprised it's only $150 more per month than an Envoy. Consider it a minor investment for the privilege of being able to drive a Z.
I have to give you credit - at least you called around. Call some more places and you might find somebody cheaper, but I doubt it will be much cheaper. "Is it what it is."

You're 17, man. If you haven't already been in an accident, you will very soon.
Call State Farm. No one will give you a better rate if you're going to register and insure on your own - That is, if it's anything like Connecticut rates.

Man 465 is high. Sorry bro but that's part of the territory with a driver in such a demgraphic such as yours. Keep searching. Go to traffic school, drive safe, dont break insurance coverages, and certaintly don't drive with out insurance.

I personally don't even remember the last time I wrote a $400+ a month policy here in CT. Plus, rates in FL are generally a lot cheaper than the NYC metro area.
Age is a huge chunk of the reason. It may also be because of the car model, credit, city he lives in, Motor Vehicle record, accident history, bad grades, whether or not he has the policy together with his parents, etc.
Go ***** to the wall and just get liability with no comprehensive. That way, if you crash the car, nobody is going to pay for it. Hopefully you'll drive more carefully knowing that. Your car has to be paid off though.

There is a reason why our 18 year old daughter drives a 1992 Corolla. And, she had to take a car control clinic in that car.
