Default Insurance

I'm a seventeen year old male, in FL.

I've called unitrin, trust way, and progressive. Out of those three the cheapest is 465.13 a month, which is outrageous.

I can afford 416.13 a month but thats quite the jump from 250.00 with my envoy.

So my question for y'all (please don't flame) is if you guys know somewhere I can find it a little cheaper.

Ask your parents and get it for free.

You are 17. It's not getting any cheaper than what you were quoted.

You're 17. You want to drive a high powered sports car with a proven track record of being a bad risk with young drivers. You want to complain about insurance cost. Prepare to be flamed - most people here who have seen their insurance cost rise over the last 6 years blame it on young drivers.

I'm surprised it's only $150 more per month than an Envoy. Consider it a minor investment for the privilege of being able to drive a Z.

I have to give you credit - at least you called around. Call some more places and you might find somebody cheaper, but I doubt it will be much cheaper. "Is it what it is."

You're 17, man. If you haven't already been in an accident, you will very soon.

Call State Farm. No one will give you a better rate if you're going to register and insure on your own - That is, if it's anything like Connecticut rates.

Man 465 is high. Sorry bro but that's part of the territory with a driver in such a demgraphic such as yours. Keep searching. Go to traffic school, drive safe, dont break insurance coverages, and certaintly don't drive with out insurance.

As a matter of fact, I'll refer you to a great agent in FL:

I'd be surprised if State Farm would even touch him - unless his parents already have coverage with them.

He'll pay a lot more if he does it on his own with State Farm, but it will most likely still be less than most companies. If he can convince his parents to switch, he'll be golden. Let's just hope his record has no major violations.

I personally don't even remember the last time I wrote a $400+ a month policy here in CT. Plus, rates in FL are generally a lot cheaper than the NYC metro area.

Wow that's expensive but I'm sure has 100% to do with your age.

His age, his location and his driving history. That might be the key - he hasn't said anything about his driving record, i.e. tickets or accidents.

Age is a huge chunk of the reason. It may also be because of the car model, credit, city he lives in, Motor Vehicle record, accident history, bad grades, whether or not he has the policy together with his parents, etc.

Go ***** to the wall and just get liability with no comprehensive. That way, if you crash the car, nobody is going to pay for it. Hopefully you'll drive more carefully knowing that. Your car has to be paid off though.

Kids your age wreck sports cars. They don't and I sure as hell don't want you driving one. Take this as a sign to keep driving your mom's Envoy.

LOL I gotta have a Z to win with the Babes. Or, kill one with you!

There is a reason why our 18 year old daughter drives a 1992 Corolla. And, she had to take a car control clinic in that car.
