Default bought a z.. warranty question..PLEASE HELP!!

hey guys.. i bought a used z off of this one dood locally.
he has extended warranty (expires end of 2010) under his name and we are in the process of transferring it..
however.. i took it to my local dealer as i was getting some screeching noise in the rear and also heavy vibration in the front for the service to be covered under extended warranty..

guess what.. dealer refused.. saying warranty is not under my name.. yet...

they would charge me to look at it...

is this right???

nissan said it will take 4-6 weeks before warranty gets transferred...

so i can't get MY CAR SERVICED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY?????

Please advise... i'm seriously stressing out...

also, please note that standard warranty expired... and only extended warranty (engine, powertrain, transmission.. just all internals pretty much) is available..

Call a lawyer? I dunno man my next possible advice would be to have the previous owner take it for you.

Correct. Regular warranty is with the vehicle.

Extended warranty is with the warranty purchaser.

When I bought my car from the original owner we transferred the Nissan Extended Warranty and it took about 30 days. This also included me having to get a full "Nissan Certified" inspection by the local dealership as well as the transfer fee.

kind of odd they would want a full inspection on a car they have already put a policy on.Oh well,I guess we are just quicker here in Canada.
