I learned on a 1999 audi a4 which is completely different than the z in every way and it only took me like a day to get used to it.

I learned on a Toyota while in high school drivers ed - in 1970. We even got 2 credit hours for that class, lol. Since then I have driven a school bus to get my crew to the ops building in the navy, and a 24 foot diesel box truck, and everything in between. The 350 Z might be the easiest MT I have ever driven. Don't even need to touch the gas if you are slow enough. 136,000 miles, original clutch and tranny.

i seriously hate that ALL z's dont have a limited slip dif. my 06 base just got stuck in 1 inch of gravel on a flat drive way. it's also extremely dangerous at high rpm's thru first and second and really wants to go sideways. did nissan even drive it without an lsd? what were they thinking?
i know its only a few hundred for a real nismo lsd, (non of that vlsd/ trac control crap for me) but the fact that the car is dangerous and painfully easy to get stuck is a huge flaw in the car.

I wish there was a clean way to remove the strut tower bar.

The paint quality for sure. The fact that if it's raining and the windows are down the slightest bit you and your interior get soaked. Which is why I quit driving mine in the rain. I don't use my a.c. I think it's pointless except for "resale" "value". The location of the hazards button... Really makes getting road head noticeable when she turns them on, and off with her elbow...

This is towards a couple of posts at the beginning of the thread.
I haven't had a problem with having sex in mine and I'm 6ft, get a girl that's flexible .

And you can get more than one girl in the car. Get 2 short ones and put them in the trunk. Just follow the diagram on your hatch of how to put 2 golf bags in there and you're golden!

You do know that there's a trunk release button just above the rear license plate, right?

I have heard about this "shitty interior" for a long time about the Z and assumed it was true but now that I own one, I don't see that at all. The interior plastics are very sturdy, it's just the hinges that are kind of shitty for the navigation door and the glove. But they're still holding up. Compared to a honda, it's not great but compared to a Ford, it's a godsend.

I personally think the gearbox in my 05 is one of the best i've driven. and ive owned an s2000. The s2000 for sure has the best gearbox hands down and many people will agree but I think the Z's box is right up there. I actually prefer it. The s2000 was butter smooth and effortless but somewhat notchy like it was so light, you can feel some resistance. And it also had this notchy first gear like most cars. The 350z doesn't feel that way at all except in 5th and 6th. I love how it just CLICKS into place in first gear.

The thing I hate about the Z: drive by wire. **** pisses me off. Before i bought the Z, someone wrote a comparison between that and the S2000 and how when you step on the Z's throttle, it's almost like asking you "are you sure?" and I found this to be so true. There isn't so much lag but the way that the drive by wire is programmed in combination with the linear powerband, it feels like you have to step on it and it responds a SPLIT second later and the power comes on gradually.

Also, hate the clutch chatter. Too little gas and the car shakes, too much and i'm overrevving. Even when its perfect, the car shakes when taking off.

Re the clutch, that's partially the drive by wire, although the main problem is the clutch engage, get the RJM pedal.

oh ****, thanks! I did not know this existed. I did a search and looks like it's what I need. It seems like it expands the engagement point which is what the Z needs. The Z's engagement point is so thin it's ridiculous. It's usually slipping/grabbing/slipping/grabbing causing the car to jerk around. It's manageable and it doesn't happen often since I've been driving stick since i was 17 but man, would it take a load off driving in traffic on the 405/91/5/you name it highway in Los Angeles. Every once in a while when an unexpected red light turns green and I scramble to move (yeah you get your *** honked at if you don't move it within 1/2 second around here), I almost stall out or overrev it to around 2.5k sometimes even 3k RPM. Good to know that the pedal can make this part of my life easier.

On a semi-related note, I once test drove a Z with a "Stage 2" clutch. WOW, it was like learning stick all over again. If the stock engagement point is this thin, that car literally the engagement point was 1/4" thick. It was so stressful to even move forward during the test drive that I didn't end up buying the car just because of that issue.
