Default Newbie Question Regarding Base vs. Enthusiast

Hey guys. So my 1993 300zx recently got piled by an unlicensed driver. I finally got the insurance money plus some savings that I'm going to use for the down payment on a 350Z. After research I decided on the 2006 model for the HR engine and slightly nicer styling.

I found a nice 350Z in SoCal that's being claimed as an Enthusiast model. I HAVE read the threads regarding the differences between models but I just want to double check with you guys to see what's going on here.

The car is being advertised as an Enthusiast model but the steering wheel appears to be void of the wheel controls. Do all Enthusiast models get the wheel controls for cruise and stereo or is this still an Enthusiast just without that. I just want to make sure I know what's going on here before I travel down to San Diego to get it and get screwed. I'll probably still get it if it's a base, I'll just call them out on it and bring the price down.

Thanks guys!

But that is a base 06 not an enthusiasts. Also the 07's have the HR and the 06's have the Revups.

That's a base for unless they changed out the steering wheel. I doubt that though. Asked them if the picture is the actual car. That should tell you the truth.

You did not research b/c the 06 doesn't have the HR motor, and if you did reasearch then you must just be really bad at researching a car, b/c everyone knows that only the 07-08 (and 09 if you count the roadster) have an HR motor. NEWB

Wow here we go already... why can't forums just be supportive. Thank you for clarifying the difference in the HR and Rev-up though. I have heard both terms but always just thought they were the same, never saw anything that stated otherwise. I always just saw that 06-on got the changes engines.

Thanks for confirming that it is a base for me, I'll call the salesperson on Monday and confirm everything and see if I can work out a deal with him.

Ya guys chill a bit he knew mostly what he was talking about. At least it wasn't the normal "So i like the 350z and want opinions" thread.

Anyway it should have the cruise control on the steering wheel, also look on the side next to the steering wheel there should be a little traction control button. Good Luck

Also, those are the standard wheels for 2006 -- not premium! If you do decide to deal with the seller, make sure you aren't paying extra for "Premium Wheels".

Everything else listed in the ad is standard/base model features as well, except there are no fog lights and I doubt it has "Dynamic Stability Contol"!

I don't see cruise control listed as a feature/option.
