Default High speed wind noise

Al least I think it's wind. My wife's 350Z makes a noise that sounds like a wind whistle at speeds above 92mph approx. I can't say for sure that it's wind but the exact speed that it happens at seems to change on windier days or with a cross wind. Sounds like it's coming from in front of the dashboard on the passenger side.

Has anybody else had this?

Hmmmm, hurricane force winds and you hear a noise. I wouldn't expect anything less at 90 MPH - especially a whistle.

There is no need to be going 92 mph on public roads, anyway. Drive closer to the speed limit and see what happens.

When I go 145 you get a bit of wind noise and when I go 165 you may get a bit of brown stuff when the brakes fade... But non of that is coming from the car!!

When going 90+ MPH, wind noise should be your least concern. Probably you have those "Deer Alerts" that you didn't realize it was there.

How long has it been since the breaks were checked. My 2003 Track started the whistle about 2-3 weeks ago, and now my breaks are shot. Have new pads on order.

^first post finally?

back to the topic
any thing over 90, Z's been loud.
at around 140, the wind noise is ridiculous.
it almost feels like the windows will shatter, or is is just my car?

i've hit 148 in my 01 Acura CL and its even then its only as noisy as the Z at about 100.

Flamers:
I only do it when there's no body else in the way or even close by just in case if I lose control I dont run in to them. I watch for others' safety first.

i know EXACTLY what you are talking about ! when i first heard it , i freaked out ! for the guys who have never heard it, and are making some smart *** comments, it sounds like a loud "old-fashioned kettle comes to the boil" whistle

I have NO idea what it is or how to fix it .... passenger side dashboard is where the vent and the fan are - that must be it

Finally someone else hears it. I'm still under warranty but that's going to be a tough one to take to the dealer.

^^ +1, secondly the z isnt air tight like my friends sc400 is, thing is quite no matter how fast you go. the fault lies with the windows lol, because they arent sealed from both sides like others are they will tend to let in a little bit of air, hence you wind noise

i thought the air tightness in our cars came from when you shut the door it goes up another 1/2 inch to seal it...that's not airtight??? or is that just a feature to look cool when you get in your car... hehe
