Default New 08 Shudder in 1st

Tried to search around but no definitive answer. I have a new 08 touring with 5100 miles. I have been driving a stick for about 16 years and have never experienced this before.

Clutch seems strong; Bucks hard in 1st when you let the clutch out (no gas), grabs 2nd fine, shifts good going into every other gear. Its a little clunky downshifting into second, but I think thats pretty normal for this car. I drive the car but I don't drive the car super hard.

When I start out in 1st lower RPM's the car seems to shudder. The RPM's don't jump so it seems the clutch isn't slipping. It doesn't do it if I start out in higher RPM's 2500 and up.

Just wondering if anyone else experiences this issue?

That was one of the first things I learned when I starting driving this Z - you have to start with higher RPMs. Otherwise you'll experience clutch chatter or shudder of the car. Basically, it's normal.

Oh yeah, you do know about the break in process on your clutch right????? Be easy on her and she will perform in the long run!!! thats why its shuddering. with my car, All i have to do is release the clutch without gas and she ready to go without the shuddering!

No definitive answer because the answer is subjective.

Thanks for the replies.

I thought the clutch was fine but I wanted to make sure. You saved me a trip to the dealership.

Love this site and my ZZZZZZZZZ!

Be Safe.
