Finally, some peace of mind.
So I finally got my clutch/brake pedal lock in the mail. It's like the CLUB, but it goes on your pedals. Designed by a car thief, plus it's what he uses, or so the guy said when Diane sawyer interviewed him on a car theft epidemic special that was on a few days ago. So far, so good, there's no use obsessively worrying about the car being stolen (heck, if they want it bad enough, they'll get a flat-bed truck) but anything to come between the average car thief and some "Gone in 60 Seconds" guy is welcome. I park in the garage at home and it's air-conditioned and ADT equipped, but I do put it on when I'm at work. It's already helped me at work in the sense that now all of my 'hope my car's still there' brainpower is spent on being creative and i can finally cut hair in peace :-D I just registered the lock with the company, so if the car is stolen while the lock is on the car, they'll pay $10,000 towards your insurance or recovery or something like that. Must read the fine print ;-)
naw it has merit IMO, hard to drive a stick without a clutch, cant even start it.
but yeah they can still tow it. tho thats hardly easy either.
Im just way too lazy to put that damn thing on every time, just looks annoying.

I had one of those for my Cobra, no "average" thief is gonna be able to steal your car with one of those pedal locks on it. Mine locked both the clutch and brake pedal. So you cannot engage the clutch or push in the brakes. The keys could not be duplicated (they look like drill bits), it was hacksaw proof, the lock was drill proof, it was bulletproof, and even resistant to freon.
One of the main points of this device is the fact that for anyone to actually work on it they have to get under the steering column, which requires them to work on it from outside the car with the driver's side door open. So even if they had say a blow torch it would be pretty obvious someone was up to something.
In addition, if they chose to steal your car without removing the lock well then they would have to break the steering column, put the car in neutral, and have several men push the car to wherever they wanted it to be while using the emergency brake as a brake. I think this scenario would be just a bit noticeable lol, I think people will leave your car alone

Yeah, something like that. It's called the TREXX Titanium lock. It's supposedly better than the autolock. It's key mechanism is much more pick proof. My friend's got a Autolock, this one looks much better quality. It's not that hard to put on, takes about 2 seconds on and off. You're right about the different benefits, like it's cumbersome position and the inability to even start the car, let alone drive it. Works great, so far I'm really happy with it. I don't always put it on (like running in and out of Starbucks), but if it'll be parked for a little bit, then I'll put it on.
There are many of these devices that basically do the exact same thing, some look slightly different but serve the same fuction.
My particular one was called the Pedal Jack, fully adjustable if I had a manual Z I would be using it right now lol. Instead for the Z I just got a good aftermarket alarm installed.
