take the car inside with you as well its water proof too....this way no one will mess with your key, ipod and car while you swim.

LOL at some of the responses.
I've taken Nissan keys in the ocean while surfing 100's of times and never had a single issue.
Don't even think about taking the key fob in there though, thats just unnecessary.

Ha, am I the only one who hides it under the car. I just put it behind the front wheel under the car when I do an outdoor activity involving water.

I dropped my key + key fob into a bucket of used motor oil
. After i cleaned it thoroughly by shaking it around for about a half an hour in a container filled with detergent and water, then rubbing alcohol, it still worked.
So, That's trial by oil, water, detergent, and alcohol.
