Default Help... Need a Z now

I know this sounds ridiculous but I need a Z now. My wife wrecked her Volvo wagon. I have been nursing my 1990 Max until my Preorder Z arrives probably in Nov. Now some bastard hit my Max and took off and there is serious damage. I don't want to put any more money in the Max it is not in good shape anyway. So I am without a car. If anyone hears of a CS or Silverstone base or enthusiast available in California (at MSRP) please let me know.

I assume your already checking the dealer inventory @ NissanDriven and making calls. I'll keep my ears open for any news at my dealer.

billg,

Make sure you check/call Vallejo Nissan. I don't think they have any cancellations yet but when I was there last Thursday the Sales Mgr. said that they weren't going to charge over MSRP on cancelled cars. You might just get lucky. There is a stand-by waiting list though.

You might consider just renting a car until your Z arrives. You can, I believe, get monthly rates on cars. Get a compact, such as an Escort, etc.

Just a thought,
Todd

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been renting a car for the last 1.5 months while the wifes car is getting repaired. The $1K/mo gets expensive after a while. I think I need to look for a better rental deal.

Renting is a no-brainer; I've been doing it since April for reasons similar to yours. $500 - $600 / month all-in for a mid-size with reasonable creature comforts ain't too bad. The cool part is zero maintenance costs, 100% roadside assistance, and zero insurance premiums because the car is covered under the "drive other car" provisions of my now one-car auto policy.

Check it out. Enterprise has pretty good deals and may negotiate with you if you're renting for several months. Good luck.
