Default How are you using the stopwatch function?

I haven't used it yet, at least not while driving/racing. I'll probably try it out on a little 0-60 test just for the fun of it, but it's going to be tricky trying to nail the timer button while shifting/driving.

Anyone else using this? How?

I don't have a Z yet but you can use it to time how much it takes you to get from place to place.

odd thing is theres the other time that does only seconds(not tenths and what not) but it also gives you mileage...

for a trip time, who needs to know it down to the tenth of a second...

Sometimes I check to see how long it takes to get my order in drive through.

timing zero to sixty is sobering, compare your time to the Road and Track time...tough to get to 60 as quick as the pros.

I don't know what Nissan was thinking with this guage. It seems like a gimmick. but I get verrry boorrred commuting to SF. At one time I thought it might be interesting to time my commute. Wrong.

Could be Nissan's attempt to put a guage that would be useful to people who do timed rallys...not the racing style of rally. The object is to arrive at the check point at a preselected time. This guage provides the info that one needs in that type of competition.

Things the timing mechanizims are good for...

#1 - (the one that shows the mialage) - Reset this when you VALET the car or leave it at the dealer etc! It only runs while the car is RUNNING! so you will see how long they had the car running for / how far they drove it! put it on the MPH while doing this because most people dont know its there!!!

#2 - the stop watch - How long people stare at you

That is a really good idea, I have been worried about Valeting my car, cause its still in break in, and I dont want some valet **** (can I say f*ck?) to redline my engine or take it for a spin. Guess this wont help with the redline, but at least I would know how far he drove it.

even though you have the light set to go on at 4500 rpm you can go as high as you want till the real limiter hits in...

I have a two mile climb up to the house along a winding road and occasionally I check how fast I can make it. Really takes the edge off the end of a long day!

The location of the control is a pain because I like to hold onto the wheel with two hands.

I'd never thought about setting the timer when dropping the car off at the dealer or leaving it with the family when I leave town. hmmmm...
Nice idea.
