For your consideration, there is a scenic route called the foothills parkway (shown on my NC map) NW of Deals Gap which cuts across to US 321 near Pigeon Forge. I do not have first hand experience but was told this was a beautiful drive. I know it's not inhabited because it was closed for the winter (padlocked) last trip there and I had to continue on to Maryville. As I recall, the little town of Townsend is near Cades Cove and most of the drive between Cades Cove and Gatlinburg is a scenic mountain drive (if I recall correctly). Regardless, You can count me in. I think Gatlinburg would be a great place for lunch and it should be an OK place to congregate since it will still be a little ahead of inseason crowds. Parking may be an issue downtown Gatlinburg, but if you tell us where the food will be, we should all be smart enough to get there! From a selfish stanpoint, this would be my preference, since I will probably take the 441 route back across Newfound Gap to South Carolina after lunch. Andy, I really didn't catch which path you preferred to take ...the high road? or the low road? OR both roads! It really doesn't matter ...we're gonna have a great weekend.

just got back. i only had today (saturday), but i got plenty. we had a great turn-out. 74 z's of all flavors. i'm sure thousands of pictures of the event will be hitting the net in the next few days, hopefully with some video as well.

it was so much fun, i kinda fell guilty not paying for it. something that good shouldn't be free.

Just got back also. I have pics and videos. I had a good time and even met some new friends. Ie Jeff who won a pop charger and we installed it the same day. And Doug Crawford. Very nice and very knowledgable.

 

yeah, it was a blast, thanks andy and morris, and the z clubs and businesses that stepped up to sponsor it!

 

1st and foremost a BIG round to mcduck (Andy) and morris (Morris) With out the drive and determination of these to guys none of this would have happened. 2nd a huge thanks to the sponsors, Z Clubs and the businesses.....YOU GUYS ROCK!! 3rd to my boy PIMP1911 Without your help (and tools) that popcharger that I won would never have made it on there. Dewayne, you (and your lady) always have a room here at the "Holt Manor" It was sooo much more then I could have ever imagined and I'm charging my camera for a teaser pic of the weekend. It was truely a pleasure to make new friends and I wish it didnt have to end. Cant wait till next year!

Thank you Andy and Morris! I had a great time. It was organized well, one of the best Z events that I have ever been to. You guys made allot of people very happy. I met many very nice people, and I cannot wait till next year.

I have 3 hours+ of Video -- Day Drives, Night Drives, Videos of me getting destroyed by Doug (Crawford Z), Videos from my "Dukes of Hazard" Mount (TM) .....good times.

Guys it was probably the funnest event that I have ever been to and to make it even better it was close to home I kindof took the dragon for granted untill I saw all of these beautiful Z's show up...
