Shocking!
I love this job.

DAMN! I thought I'd win the award for longest drive. Not even close I guess.
Of course, Bob could be pulling a fast one here. He probably is going to have the magazine ship his Z here and take the Sport Z corporate jet over to NC!

First, I'll get a military transport to do a Z air-drop at the Village.
Second, ask my NC slave to be at the drop zone.
Third, go out and purchase the used Gulfstream from Phil Mickelson.
Forth, jet (I'm already qualified, so that would be no big deal) into Ashville where my NC slave would pick me up at the VIP gate.
Next -- You know the rest.
Back to reality, will not be driving the 350Z, the S8 gets the call on this one. Large frame, long legs -- take the Audi. Don't hate me!
See y'all at the Fontana Resort.
Bonz, how much for a S8 detail job?
Bob
Hey there Publisher BoB, (southern for Hi), I'm more concerned about our Z buddy from Maryland unable to make the trek across the State of NC than I am about you getting here. One Senior Bob to another, "Enjoy the Ride"... I understand you're from Colorado Springs so I believe you will relate to this: We left Greenville, SC at 7:00 pm and drove straight through to Denver. I like to drive so the wife took the wheel west of St. Louis and gave it back east of Kansas City. We arrived at our pre-booked motel at 7:00 pm the following day (26 hrs - 2 time zones) and the excitement of the trip was just beginning. I love your Rocky Mtns and I'm sure you'll like our Smokey Mtns. Look forward to talking to you at Fontanna! Have a good trip. I understand you will be spending some time on the east coast when you get here. My last major Z trip out west, with my son, was about 200 miles shy of 10,000. Some day soon, I hope to have time time to take a Z drive up the east coast during the fall time. Not this year, but soon.

You're right about staying on the east coast a while. After Fontanna, Marlene and I will travel to Ashville for a "castle" tour. After that, I'm heading over to Fort Bragg to see my new friend Top Sergeant James Hamm. See Straightaway in the spring issue and his article in the Winter 2003 issue. James is my new hero. When he and his family visited me around Thanksgiving, they had a profound impact on me. There is a chance that James may be able to make it to Fontanna on Sunday.
Two weeks -- can't wait to meet all you guyz and galz. I just know it'll be a blast.
BTW, I'll bring some of the hot-off-the-press Summer 2004 issues with me. It looks like they'll be ready -- checking out the proofs tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

HOWEVER
STIPULATIONS...
1. You need to write a feature article on detailing (freebie, of course). Unlikely to make Fall 2004 issue.
2. Detailing needs to take place in Larkspur, Colorado (bugs & stuff happening on my drive home). I'm sure you understand!
3. Free shoulder surgery on my failing throwing arm.
4. Surgery also needs to be in Colorado. Come to think of it, I could fly my new corporate jet to Pittsburgh.
5. And last (unless I think of something else), your lifetime subscription to Sport Z Magazine. The best magazine there ever was.

That's quite a list, Bob. I would think you would be begging Bonz for the privilege of being allowed to put that gorgeous glowing Brickyard on the cover of your magazine!

You need to get bizzaaaa.

I dunno, Bob... I'm with Bonz on this one. How often will you get two highly-Zainoed & Supercharged Brickyard 350Zs in one spot? Is there room for two Brickyards on the cover???
This could be the photography opportunity of a lifetime... kinda like getting bigfoot or Nessy on film!
