installed an invidia gemini exhaust. sounds awesome, quiet like stock when putting around town but opens up under throttle. also figured out a way to remove stuck cat to y pipe bolts using a ball joint removal tool and an spare socket. heres a pic.
smart thinking on alternate use of tool to get job accomplished.\
so-did you keep factory CAT? ( i am pondering the Gemini and doing research on all the various variations on how people install them, factory cats, test pipes, resonated test pipes,HFCs and so on) lol- loads of fun

stock cats and a plenum spacer. I really like the sound, its super quite when cruising. the only negative i could think of is that it takes away the z's signature sound. ive heard the invidia n1 style, borla and ebay hks and this is hands down my favorite out of the ones that i have heard in person.

Thanks for grouping my exhaust in with the ebay one haha
I have grown to like my borla though, it is almost exactly as you described yours.
oh sorry didnt mean to come off that way, it was just a list. But yeah the borla was the quietest out of the bunch.
Its all good I just thought it was funny it was grouped into that list. It is quite possibly the quietest exhaust available for these cars I was rather disappointed when I first got it. But its grown on me.
I went ahead and put the new amp in... Think its going to be overkill with the addition sub, and it seems moving the box from the strut bar into the spare tire area has improved bass output.
may i ask how long to take off the tranny? looking into doing rear main seal and doing research about it.
I would say if you have all the right tools give yourself a solid weekend to come off then back on if you really are working on it solid all day. Its really not that bad, just getting all the connectors disconnected and getting to all the bell housing bolts can be frustrating.....and stripped clutch lines. I have been battling pneumonia so I've been taking a couple weekends working on it about 4 hrs on Saturday and Sunday both weekends. I used the two links below as guidelines which helped a lot. Just make sure you get the car up high enough....id say like 24-28 inches off the ground so you can get the trans out from underneath the car when your ready to lower it.
Looks Great! Did you go with the SB 19 pounder? I've got the 19lb. fw and DXD stg. 2; love it but would go stg. 3 like you did if I did it over.
Yeah the 19lb FW and quiet disk DXD stage 3 clutch.......I didn't want to go too light due to the Boosted Performance turbo I got....hopefully the 19lb isn't still to light. I just hope the stage 3 daily holds the power thats going to be thrown at it with the turbo......we will see.
