Never quite understand why anyone needs a 15 in a car.... no hate, Mike, just wonder sometimes. I play through a single 15" cabinet (outdoor gigs at that) with a mere 200w gig amp (and I have a seldom used 300w setup running through a dual 15" cabinet for larger venues). In what mode does anyone need this in a car when an open B string 40Hz pushed by 200w is waaaaay more than enough to fill a 500 person outdoor venue??
Not really a question.... just musing. Funny contradiction, as a bass player, I find these sub'd cars rolling down the street just annoying. But then, it might be that their dumbass band pass cabs only allow for that one ground shaking freq through..... ugggggggh.
And that's considered their mating call or something...
O I agree its way overkill... I thought my single 8 inch woofer was fine...
My problem is I get bored and think of thing's to keep me occupied. And I have all these tools laying around that I hardly use anymore. So the wheels start turning in my head and I end up with a massive new subwoofer.
I also had the amp sitting here that I just picked up for my duel 8s...
Its a Rockford fosgate prime 250 mono amp... Build sheet said it tested at 294 watts RMS at 2 ohm
Got a 2 ohm sub rated at 250 watts rms 500 peak so it should be a perfect match...

Are your other 4 speakers just running off the app built into your head unit ?
Installed my coilovers at 3am yesterday. Lol. The life of a graveyard shifter.
Plus installed my EPS breather kit.
Administration tuning 3.5" intake sitting at the house. Waiting on the v+ plenum. Tune coming soon!!!!

Yeah my regular speakers are powered through the head unit, they are really nothing special... Rockford 6 1/2 in back and kenwood 6 1/2 in the door...
Drove to the Mohegan sun for a test run... Sounds pretty good set the amp at about a 2 out of 10 and the subwoofer output from the head unit at -4... So far so good.

Oh, forgot to mention it, Mike, that while I puzzle over the "need" for such a set up, the work you put in is amazing and well beyond anything I would do!

You play?? That's awesome. I played bass for a couple years in a band, but then switched to drums.. Haven't played in a little while though.

"Need"???? Lol. I dont think any of "need" 75% of the stuff we buy for our cars. I jyst convinced my wife that I "need" carbon fiber fender wrap. 15" of speaker is juuuuuuuuuusst right for a Z
Today I gave my car a brake upgrade using some Hawk HPS pads and DBA 4000 T3 rotors. I've done two bedding cycles on the brakes thus far but my initial impressions are that the brakes are leaps better than the stock Brembo hardware. The goal with my Z is to make it more track focused so whiteline diff bushings and fortune auto coil overs are next.
