I had to call Corporate about a $1,700 ECM (computer) that went dead in my car 3 days after I bought it (used) because the dealership wouldn't pay for it. Went dead because Nissan doesn't put relays in their cars (even my brother's 1987 car has them).
Basically here's how it works. They've all got each others backs and you'll never see a dime from them.

holy SHi... could you have bought that cheaper in the forums??? I had my 08Xterra serviced today. 13k miles and a hose for the ac busted in the cabin passenger side. i also had the VDC and slip light come on for no reason. the stealership didnt charge me a dime and i waited 2hrs for my suv.

$1,700 including labor, apparently it took massive man hours to install (or something) That's not something even the most experienced car guy could put in yourself, because you wouldn't have the computer that programs it.
It really sucked because I had just bought my car the week before and had no money left. I'm just glad my parents loaned me moeny, because otherwise I would've had to permenantly park my car just after I got it until I saved up $1,700....

DIY is the best thing you can do if your looking to save. I didn't buy the extended warrenty for this car cuz I have access to a lift and I got my own tools plus alldata. I don't trust people working on my car cuz I know most shops r very busy and I don't need someone in a rush working on my car.
