Well, they did advertise more mpg with shell. But hmm, I posted a thread about this I think and people told me to stay away from Shell. Said it ruined their cars.

Guess I will go ahead and try it? I'd love to get better mpg. I am only getting 16 mpg

Konverter... You in NY or L.A.? Here in L.A. there are lots of 76 stations that have 100 octane racing fuel. Just chk their website.

Figured as much. In NY wearing a Medusa would get your a** kicked. I know the LA clubs well. Probably all too well (except I have real hair...hehe). Anyway, check out 76's website. They list all of the stations with "racing gas". There is one here off Ventura Blvd in Reseda. When I feel spunky I slap a few gallons in before a fill-up for a weekend cruise. Car runs way better. Don't know if it's worth the $4.79 a gallon though. I'd say it is equal to eating at Outback vs Carls Jr. Both will fill you up with meat and do the job. Only one feels right and is worth 5x the price during times you want to spoil yourself. I don't know for sure if the new Z has carbon build-up issues using gas with too high octane. I know the old ones did. I guess you can factor that out by running it hard after break-in.

(BTW - all you Angelino's....Chevron has the highest quality gas. The old 300 gets valve knock on any other 91 octane besides .)

Like I said... In LA you don't have to worry about getting your a** kicked for wearing it. Hell I think it's cool. I think it's even cooler you own a Z. I'm just saying that there are areas of NYC where wearing that is offensive to the gangs. NYC sucks IMO and why I moved here from PA. I "know" where all the cool peeps are.

The new Shell formulation, which is offered in all three grades - regular, plus and premium - can add up to 125 miles per year for a customer driving 12,500 miles per year.

Based on your observations you got much better gas mileage.

Your milage has all to do with good gas, the way you break in the car, and how drive it daily. Period.

Highway on cruise for 40 mi at 70mph is going to be way different than me who would be stuck in 20-0-20 mph stop and go traffic daily 5 days a week. Gotta be more specific man.

For the most part, I strictly use Shell (it helps that one is 3 minutes from my house), and I have always gotten great gas milage. I only use anything else in extremely dire situations.

And now they have the new "V-POWER" (??) 93 octane. I wonder what type of results that will produce.

Not to try and burst your bubble or anything, but maybe one way was uphill mostly and the other was down hill. I.E. you drove up into the mountains one way, filled up, then drove back down them (extreme example).

I've done it before, driving from KC to Denver, filled up twice, driving back made it with about 1.5 tanks.

I have only filled my Z twice so far, the last time being Shell. I'll figure it's gas milage next fill up.

I guess it's the new name for their 93 octane? re-formulated maybe? I dont know...I saw the signs the other day when I was @ the pump. It was on the pump itself and they had banners all over the gas station. *shrug* Maybe it's just here.
