I didn't think you were 5. I did figure you were in your 20's. I don't care what you've done in your short life, the lesson that everyone needs to learn is that opinions are like butt holes... everyone has one and most everyone else thinks they stink. My dad taught me that when I was little.

Whoooooaaaa easy there, tonto... Pretty sure no offense was meant, no need to go off on a tangent about how responsible you are and such. No need to prove anything on teh internets

Good job on that but honestly you sounded like an "ignorant" kid in your earlier posts. Had to use "ignorant" because there are lots of smart kids

Hahaha, wtf? You took a lot of offense to one little word.

Either way, you did make an ignorant and stupid post. Old ladies drive auto Zs? Everyone has a reason for their preferences, and for you not to understand that says a lot. But, for whatever it's worth, my old lady car will rip your car and probably every other N/A 6-speed with a 5AT sh*t talker behind the wheel.

I've come to realize the people who talk the most crap are usually the worst stick drivers out there.

i have an '06 5AT with intake, plenum spacer, HFCs and an exhaust.. still running strong.

soon, i'll be putting the following:

-Vortech SC
-Oil cooler
-Torque converter
-Valve body upgrade

i'll have a thread with my setup once i'm done with all that.. i just need time, and money is coming along the way towards this project.

i'm gonna keep this car for drag (for the fun of it) and track it (autoX) whenever i get the chance.

i'm gonna try to be another living proof of an FI 5AT.

I think no matter what, both groups have their sh*t talkers.
There are the standard owners who are enthusiastic about a car, whether manual or auto, and then there's the ones who believe it's not a car if it's an auto..
Then there are the auto drivers who also just care about the car, and of course, the kids who can't drive standard, say they can, but have an auto, and think they're the sh*t.
Who cares..

How much HP was he running? I've heard that the auto is only good for about 400 to 420 RWHP before it starts acting wonky.

All you morons who say it cant be done are just ignorant idiots who know next to nothing about transmissions. As long as you get a v/b mod and a large external trans cooler you will be fine.

Please if you are going to post in a thread at least know what the *** you are talking about......and to the 6mt's anytime you want to run just remember 1 thing.....the 5at dosent loose boost between shifts like the 6mt does.
I have a 5at it’s going out and I’m looking to replace it and I want to put a shift kit in the new one along with a trans cooler any recommendations on where to start

now adding a valve body or "shift kit" is a bandaid repair, true it may do its job but also it will not last repeated abuse of 500hp consistantly, autos (built right) are great for daily driving and 1/4 mile times... thats about it... everything else it can do but it isn't the best choice
sorry your talking crap we have a z here 398bhp with paddle shift, the box has a transco kit and larger oil cooler .. this thing is driven hard on tracks and has covered over 26k since the work was carried out . Never an issue. And ive not seen a manual beat him off the line yet . .
