I just bought my Z, but I am very disappointed
Hi everybody,
Do you have the same experience that I have?
When I bought my z, I found three broken parts that I have to wait for two weeks to fix them. Also, I have a question to ask. Can anyone tell me about your z (if you have the touring with automatic shift)? I find out that when I try to accerate my z from 0 to 30 , it takes too long ( I mean way way too long and the sound from the engine is funny).
I have to step on the gas up to 3000rpm to feel the speed. Is it right thing to do from 0 mph.
Please help me out, and tell me how to treat my z
Thank you
Yan

Dude are you for real?
This post makes no sense. First of all what three parts are broken. Second: "I have to step on the gas up to 3000rpm to feel the speed. Is it right thing to do from 0 mph." - What the hell does this mean?

when you say the sound of the engine is funny, do you mean funny as in different than any other time you step on the gas? check the title on the car, make sure it hasn't been wrecked. also, you say 3 broken parts, but you don't describe what parts they were? was the car used?

I'm lost 2, is the car new, used, ect?
That would have a lot to do with it. And what are the broken parts? If they are engine related, then yes, I am assuming your engine would be a little sluggish.
You need to be a little more specific if you want specific answers!

Yes it is a brand new car I bought it for two weeks, and it has three broken parts. The first one is the exterior plastic part (76891-cd000 filler) between the driver side window and the small rear window.
The second part is the front bumper cover (62023-cd000) that covers the area that you set your towing nut.
The last one is the leather seat (passenager side) a hugh bleached spot.they said cannot be fixed
When I step on the gas about 2000 rmp. other cars can pass my car easily. Who can tell me how much time for my touring with automatic to get from 0 to 60 mph. I will check the time from 0 to 60 today.
I am going to make a phone call to nissan to cpmplain about it.

My dealer promises they will fix the problems today. let see what will happen. Do you know how many times I have been at the dealership five times to fix my car. Is it a lemon?
I think I just have bad luck to buy a good car haha

let the dealer look at the car. They should treat you fairly well, you just spent about 30 g's with them. You should have inspected the car before delivery. 0-30 the car should take off. if it sounds funny and other cars are passing you I'd say you might have a problem.

Was this a new car or how many miles are on it? The problems you desbribe are only cosmedic but regardless, you should not have had them. I find it hard to believe the dealer sold you a new car in that condition.

well, the broken parts stuff is your fault to be honest. From what your post describes, you bought it that way, and are complaining about it after the fact? right?
Also, with the automatic transmission. Other cars pass you when you step on the gas? Are they racing you? I would never buy a sports car with an auto but that's just me. it was your choice to purchase this thing, you test drove it, and shelled out $30K to buy it. live with it, or supercharge it.

Hi JFritz,
No they did not tell me anything about the broken parts. They did not know the problems at the first place, but they did not treat me right. They seem don't care after I bought the car.

none of the parts you described are going to magicly break... the towing cover wont magicly snap, nor the side pillar peice. you have to have done something to them. the bleached seat is the biggest, cause the seat doesnt bleach itself.
as for performance, are you putting the pedal to the floor? there are cars that can beat the Z, but you should have an idea of what they are. an accord will not be beating any Z manual or auto. but if its like an S2k thats racing, yes he could beat you, same for STI, evo, corvette ect, but if your talkin the chrysler minivan passed you with you redlining it, something isnt right.
you should have no problem getting to 60 in under 6 seconds in an automatic, Im talking just going from brake to gas down to the floor, no clever techniques or anything, just straight GO. in full auto mode, no manumatic.

well,
they didn't tell you anything about the broken parts? could you visually see the "broken" parts when you bought the car? don't blame nissan for a bad build, it sounds like the dealer didn't take care of it.
they don't care? unfortunately almost every dealer in the U.S. has this same attitude. find one that cares is all i can say. talk to a manager if you want to stick with that dealership. let them know everything that you've mentioned on this board.
you've been to the dealer ship 5 times already? for the same problems?

CW....your right, almost every state has a 72 hour "cooling off period".....usually reserved for any purchase that is over 10,000.00
Yan, How could you sit in the car even for 2 seconds at the dealership and not notice a "huge" bleach spot on the seat?????

Considering it's been to the dealership 5+ times, it's probably beyond the 72 hour cooling off period. I understand not noticing little things here and there, but I'd go over the car with a fine toothed comb when I got it home. And, if any one thing was wrong, I'd take it back the next day and very calmly explain that they can either fix it now, or take the whole car back. I would think that would get you to the front of the service line.
