Default replaceing windshield

Barely had my Z for a week and got a nice crack on the windshield already from a rock. Anyone know how much this is gonna cost me? Not sure if my insurance covers windshields.

Your insurance will and should cover it, check how much your deductible is, usually $100. OEM glass cost around $900-$1000.

Unless you have Full glass coverage, It's not covered.. I had my windsheild replaced a few months ago after finding a big crack. I was sent to a PPG replacement shop the next day, and they did the replacement in about 1 1/2 hours.. It's an exact replacement.. I saw the bill to my insurance company and it was $345.. I have full replacement glass coverage with ZERO deducatble.. It didn't cost a dime out of my pocket.. Don't pay list from a Nissan dealer.. It's not worth it..

BoostTed- had the exact same thing happen to me. Car was 4 days old and got pinged- instant 4" crack. I was planning on replacing with OEM glass but was quoted $956 for new windshield and labor.
Hesitated over replacing with non-OEM but eventually took it to a local glass repair shop. They replaced the windshield with PPG and I can't tell a difference. The PPG windshield is identical to the OEM, even comes with the rear view mirror bracket premounted. Total cost: $280 out the door.

Sorry- San Jose area. However most auto glass shops should have access to PPG windshield.

Looks like I'm gonna have to replace mine too...
What happens to the registration and inspection stickers when they replace the glass? In Texas, the damn things are slit so that you can't remove them without the sticker coming apart in pieces. Since it's a new car, the inspection sticker is good into 2006... I'd hate to lose that.

Hey failsafe. do you happen to have the info for that place you went to get your glass replaced.

If you think that is bad..
second day after i purchased the Z i got a rock chip.. Soooo frustrating.
also failsafe.. is your new glass just as weak as the oem one was?

Hey bring it by...

We can get you an OEM windshield or aftermarket...

Only difference is the Aftermarket does not have your VIN etched in it, (but we can do that for you too)...
