"After market parts" Are we getting screwed

I may be missing the point, but anything you add to the car that isn’t OEM and not part of the manufacturer’s option list can potentially lower the car’s value.
You can possibly get lucky when selling a modified car if a potential buyer wants a specific modification, but that’s rare. The usual case is that all the mods you add will go unappreciated. The exception with Nissan is Nismo, but that’s within OEM and accepted by the buyer.
And… jeez Duro78… long messages without any paragraphs are difficult reading. Hit your Enter key every once and awhile.
