Question Do you guys feela bog when you reach almos tredline?

I was driving hard today finally and noticed when I was goin through first and second my car would kinda bog down like 100 rpm before redline?? Is there a limiter on our cars or is it just mine? I'm confused and this is my first stick so......

The rev limiter is more like "Who hit the brakes?" not bog.

yeah im pretty sure its not the limiter... first stick or not, im confident you would know a bog from bouncing off the fuel cutoff... lol

HP is not linear, its a curve. You may be descending down that curve around redline - im not sure, dont have my Z yet so i couldnt tell ya...

The throttle body starts to close near redline, you can get a Technosquare ECU upgrade that will fix it.

Or you could just shift gears :-) End of problem. It's the engines way of telling you to shift.

i havent hit the rev limiter with the z yet as i am still breaking it in. however, with my cobra mustang when i was flooring it, it is like power, power, then all of a sudden it feels like the engine died. then as the revs dropped a bit, it seemed like the engine came back to life and you would feel the acceleration again.

if that is what it felt like, then it is probably the rev limiter fuel cut off you hit.

Good description. Described it perfectly.

Optimus, more than likely you're hitting the rev limiter. Nothing is wrong with your car. Try to shift between 6000-6200 RPMS. That's where peak hp is on a stock VQ

Yeah that's exactly it, Felt like fuel was cut off so the rev jumped down 1-200 rpm and then it regains power, but by that time I've shifted. Just wanted to make sure the car is fine Thanks fellas
