The HR may only have a "few" extra horses... it has way more torque under the curve... plus a bed-plate makes it have a much more stable bottom end

I went from an 03 to an 07, not so much for the trading up thing but because I had to sell the first car for 6 months or so while I bought a condo.
The 07 interior is a little better, for sure, but I think the 03 was a bit snappier off the line. They smoothed out the clutch or the torque curve or whatever in the HR.
I've enjoyed both cars. I can't think of something better for the money and both are easy to mod DYI.

For the amount of money that I wanted to pay for a weekend toy, I could have bought a fully loaded '06 or a base '07. After driving them both, I could not tell enough of a difference in the engine to make me want to go with a car with cloth seats and no options.
If/when I ever upgrade, it won't be to a car with only a few more horses like the HR.

I have never driven an HR before, but I had the choice of either getting my FI DE or a stock HR and I decided o go DE and don't regret it at all.
