Hmmm, Miami huh? SouthCom?

Anyway, I have a 07 with pretty much the same miles. Love it. Check out the HR engine section for mod results, but generally speaking, you can get around 300whp fairly easily and obviously you can just go F/I.

The 350Z does not respond well to mods.

My buddy blew up the motor, and Nissan would not give him a free one. Now he is making $600/month payments on a car that does not run. Pretty sad.

Z's aren't really a car you want to mod out.

I wish this board would grow up. Regardless of what th OP asks, can we at least be a little welcoming and helpful?

Be a car guy!

San Marino is a beautiful color, have you test drove the Z yet? I love my car but I think you should think this one over thoroughly for a number of reasons

If you're looking purely for a car with good response to upgrades this is not the car, you'll see the general gains you would with most exhausts/headers but the gains for aftermarket intakes for the 07-08 Z's are questionable at best and some people have actually lost power through them.

Obviously, Cobb (and others) offer tuning options for our cars as well, but nothing is coming cheap with these cars, and with the amount of money you would spend on just a full exhaust system (including HFC's and/or headers) and tuning you might be better off putting it towards F/I.

Don't get me wrong, I have always loved the 350Z and I really enjoy mine- but you have to want it for the right reasons. While relatively quick, it will not be getting you the bang for the buck performance increases you would see with a V8 or an STI. If you are looking for straight line power go the muscle car route, but if you want a car that handles turns like a champ, has plenty of passing power, and does all this while looking amazing than maybe the car is for you.

THANK YOU! thats some of what i was looking for. as far as performance im not looking to have some insane track car. my mazdaspeed only runs low 13's at the track and im happy with that. it didnt respond to mods for ****. i test drove my buddys 03 DE 350z last night actually...he had some cat-back exhaust and an intake. i loved it! im bout to get in the shower now and head down and test drive the 07 Z. if i like it and i can get what i want price wise...i will most likely get it. theres another one here in tampa also, an 06 model i will look at. thanks for the help. =)

DON'T get the 06. Stay 07+. Everything under 07 had problems. Plus 07 got the better HR motor. I have an 07 Redline and I love it to death. Pricewise I say get as close to 15k or under.

yeah the 06 has higher miles than the 07. i knew the HR engines were a bit more powerful. i am leaning towards the 07. they have it listed sticker price as 20,999. im not paying that though. i still have to part out my speed6 before i do anything. thanks.

The Z is going to be more expensive to mod than the MS6, but there is a ton more aftermarket support.

I would say get the 07 if you can for the better parts, but don't be afraid of an 06 or earlier. The earlier models had problems that were corrected just like any other first generation of a car... but it's not like they were shitty and defective cars.

Naw man sorry if I came off like it was defective or something. I just meant that the 07 had some decent changes in it that made it slightly better than the years before.

Half the people in here are yanking your chain -- welcome OP.

I myself came from Mazda(3), and really enjoy the upgrade.

Hope you find what you are looking for and are able to become part of the Z community.
