Default I crashed my Z on the highway

It happened on Route 93 S May 8th, 2010. I was going home from a friend's graduation party. Weather was bad all day, rainy. Road was wet and there were lots of pot holes. I decided to change lane, but then I started to lose control. It spun like i was doing a donut and hit the siderails. It spun some more and went back on the road in the middle lane facing the traffic. The car smoked up inside like it was burning. Some guy came over and told me to get out. MAN...I was hoping to cruise this summer. I'm picking up my belongings in the car later today.

Can I have the car towed to an autoshop near my place and have my insurance pay for it?? It's too far away and I can't rely my friends to drive me around during the week. Insurance person told me they will have someone come move the car to their "trusted" place.

Good thing. That Z was doomed from the beginning with those wheels.

Call your insurance co. Only they know what you are covered for.

Looks like its headed to the boneyard, but in any case its your choice where to have the estimates done and where the repairs are made, not the insurance company.

Was the weather much worse than it is in the pic? That does not look like enough wetness to cause a spin out from a typical lane change.

You can get it towed to wherever you want... but whether your insurance will cover the tow is another story.

OP, I sorta feel your pain. I spun out leaving a parking garage last fall. There was very little moisture and it wasn't that slick. My conclusion was cold tires + cold surface = doing 180 spins in the middle of the street.
Sounds like you may have hit some gravel and the weather looks pretty wet out there. We had a bunch of folks in the Mid-A crash/spin out due to that freaky weather we had this year. Call your ins, and let them handle the matter.
GL and the important thing is that YOU didn't suffer any damage. It's alot easier to replace a front bumper than a new pair of legs....

sorry to hear that. Im so excited to cruise around in my Z this summer back in Ohio. New roads for me to carve up and enjoy. Perhaps insurance will be kind and you can purchase another.

WTF is up with everyone wrecking their Z's?!?! There is almost a new thread about this daily. This is getting ridiculous! Now do all you younger guys buying these cars see why everyone on this forum gives you such a hard time?

OP, I'm glad you are ok.... And I'm sure you were going a little to fast for the weather condition, right?
