Default Hit and run

I left my car in a parking lot and came out to find someone hit the rear bumper. It got scratched a little and cracked from the light to the edge. Does anyone know if this is fixable or does it require the whole bumper to be replaced? Also any ideas how much it will cost? Thanks

Yes it can be fixed. There is the replacement option. Check your insurance coverage for deductible. If deductible is something you can live with you can get it replaced. That's what most shops will tell you. The alternative is repairing. Most body shops will not want to repair it because there is not enough money in it for them, they will push for replacement. Check with the dealer where you bought the car. Speak with the used car manager and ask him whom he uses for his bumper and touch up work. If his guy is any good the repair should be perfect. Typically this repair should run you anywhere from $100-$175 depending on what the guy feels like charging. You can check with any dealers used car manager to find out whom he uses for this type of repair. Deal with the guy directly this way you will avoid any dealer mark up on the repair. Good luck.
