What do you think these would look like on a Silverstone?

I actually have a set of these on my Z, except they're just chrome and don't have the blackish tint. They were a dealer-installed item and originally I didn't want them (like others have said, a bit too flashy for me), but the dealer wouldn't change the wheels without extra expense, so I took them.

They're kind of growing on me now and I like how they look on my Redline, but they are a B!TCH to keep clean - especially the fronts. If they don't have water spots on them, there's a very noticeable layer of brake dust on them. I have to keep a bottle of Mother's chrome polish in the trunk just for this.

They would look like my stock 17's did, after about a week of braking on the front wheels ( damn $#$# stock pads!)

:-)

Good point, maybe I'll just leave the break dust on them.

i had polished rims before and like dchengmd said, they are a hassle to keep clean. throw in the fact that our brake pads dust like crazy, and you will be always polishing it.

however, those are black chrome, so maybe it wont be as bad. it would be a very good alternative to aftermarket rims. i wonder what they would look like in hyper black? that is the color of the aftermarket rims i would want, because the brake dust wouldnt show as quickly... it would just kind of blend it. gun metal is too dark for me i think. ok, going off on a tangent here.

I think that they just still look like the stock 17's. And I would rather have plain silver IMO. That black chrome would look better on the stock 18's though.

i like the seven spoke 17s. i had a pair of those in regular chrome and liked them alot. like everyone said chrome wheels are harder to keep clean, but of course the brake dust wouldnt show up as much on black chrome. plus its not a real flashy run of the mill chrome anyway. a lot of people say that chrome is "ghetto" or flashy on a sports car but then again gold racing wheels could be considered rice by others. of course everyone has their opinions but in the end go with what you want not what others think is cool.

It would be nice if they were 18s or 19s. But they look cool.

I don't think it'd be worth the trouble or the $$ to polish or powercoat 17s. check out these powdercoated 18s:

i think those look real nice!!!

i think they're a bit too bling bling for the z. i agree with bobs. it just somehow seems wrong to put massive chrome on a sports car. but that's just me.
