Default Gas Hatch Issue???

Has anybody out there had issues with the gas hatch not opening? I need to hit my button 5-10 times to get the hatch to open. I have tried even holding the button down for a several seconds, but no luck. Last night it took 15 minutes and at least 50 pushes before it worked. The car is going to the dealer this week, but I was curious to know the if anybody else had this problem. BTW, this happens at any temperature (cold and warm). Thanks!

Yeah, it's happening to a lot of users, apparently you can adjust the gas door hinge, but I haven't bothered yet.

I've had the problem since I had the car, I'm having the dealer look at that this week while my car is there. I had to hit the button 7 times yesterday before it would open.

Default Door locked

I too have had this problem, but yesterday that when I was pushing the button, the doors were locked. I got out and checked and the gas door was still shut. I then went back and pushed the button once and then looked at the gas door and it was open. Apparently the doors have to be unlocked for the gas door to open. I haven't tried it again, but will today when I get home.

I have a problem with my trunk not opening on the first try either with the remote or the button on the trunk.

My buddy (base Z, Lemans Sunset) says to make sure the gas cap strap is not in the way of the latch when closing the hatch. Makes sense. Try it!

lubed and adjusted, I know many have to hit it twice including me, I just punch it twice real quick and it always opens.

the button is momentary tho, holding it wont help, nor will pushing it harder or faster, hear stories of the button going through the dash, heh easy there hulk.

Only one thing works , have been saying this for almost a year now . Get some WD40 and lubricate the little black lever that releases the hatch and it will work everytime . Work the lever in and out several times with your finger after lubricating . That is the problem ! It needs to be done every 2-3 weeks but it will then open reliably ! Not sure , but the lever may be too wide for the opening it goes in and out of, or the material the lever is made of has a high coefficient of friction . It does need to be changed , but in the meantime if you lubricate it , you'll have no more problems !

if that does work, a thicker more gel like grease might do better than WD40 in durability. just so you dont have to do it every 2 weeks or whatever, I only fill the car up every 2 weeks.

Ares , sounds like a good longer term alternative . Either way , this is the issue and the WD40 does work for now .
