Default Water in exhaust on heavy rain?

Where I Live its raining cats and dogs, my car is in the parking lot and the water is at the level of the rear bumper meaning that the exhausts are below the water level now, does the water goes in the pipes and if it does can cause damage to the engine or other parts? can I start the engine when the water level goes down?

Please advise.

Thanks!

man, that is not good. I guess all you can do is start the car and rev it like crazy. Then just try driving around. hahaha orrrrr, you can drive it up an incline and see if water comes out the tips hahaha

It'll be fine, once you drive it for a while all the water will disappear, just don't make a habit of it...

unless your car is parked in a steep driveway (rear bumper up) and water enters the exhaust like that i wouldn't worry too much.

If your really that concerned op, locate a buddy with a winch and ease her out of there.
