Default Just Got Smashed! :( (accident)

No one cares about my whole story so I'm gonna keep it simple. Lady hit me, her fault. Where do I start with insurance? Wheels are volk gtms, they don't make them anymore.. now what? Will insurance cover? Does it look repairable?
Officer wrote 8,000 est of damage. Isn't that about half what my car is worth?

I'm 21. Paid off my car. I don't know where to start. Any tips to make sure I make wise decisions during this process? This is also my first accident, so that's why I'm not sure what to expect.

2004
60xxx miles
stechs
exhaust
test pipes
plenum spacer
volk wheels

Thanks for any help and advice.

Ouch, did you call the insurance to get an adjuster to look at it?

It looks pretty bad, but I'm not sure if it's totaled from what I can tell.

If the airbags deployed, you can pretty much count on it being totaled. Sorry to hear it

sad to see the pics. but like Eazy said, if the airbags go off its usually done for. looks like its time for a 370z.

The car is broken but I assume you are OK. That is good news.

I recommend that you begin with advise from your insurance company.

The damaged that is estimated is low after parts and mostly labor. They are going to claim it as totaled for sure, the air bags definitely do you in, that really sucks!! I would sue her insurance and yes bring all your receipts, I had an aftermarket wheel get hit and the guys shitty insurance company covered 90% of it's cost when I showed them.

What do you do if you bought something used without a receipt?

Or if you bought something online do you just show them the confirmation page?

that's alot of damage buddy. good thing your ok. do you have full collision coverage? and it is your first accident so hopefully your insurance comp is lenient. if you do expect to repair completely expect it to take a long time before it's 100%. I would just buy another car and sell the working parts that were left intact.

Suing would be way too expensive. No lawyer would take that case on contingency since no injuries were involved. I wouldn't bother arguing with the ladies insurance. It would probably be best to let your insurance take care of things and they can recoup their money from her insurance. I think if you got 90% of the value of your aftermarket wheels, you did outstanding.

I'm not sure about something like market place items...I would do my best to show anything to them, but unless you did paypal or have some trace that is documented for what you paid you should be okay...Its definitely a pain in the *** and it all takes a lot of time and patience, but you have to be a bigger pain in the *** in the end and you'll get your way.

No not really and it's better than getting screwed. What sucks about suing is that it takes up a lot of time and you have to constantly keep up with it for months. I only mentioned that anyways incase he gets screwed really bad. If insurance gives you what you think is fair....take it!

Thanks fellas. I'm taking as many precautions as possible. I was driving home from work. The girl didn't have her lights on (it was around 11pm at night). She was in the right lane I was in the left lane. She decided to illegally u-turn. So she cut from her lane into my lane while trying to cut across the median, no signal, nothing. She just ***** out, went for it.
