Default Turning TCS off

I understand that if you turn TCS off when you restart the car it will automatically be on again. Is there anyway to turn it off and have it stay that way until you manually turn it back on? My dealer said you can't do that....it just seems to me there should be a way. Your thoughts?

Sorry, but your dealer is correct. TCS will always turn on when you re-start the car.

I'd like to take a quick poll.

A) I like TCS and always leave it on
B) I dislike TCS and always turn it off.
C) Sometimes I have it on, sometimes I have it off...depending on conditions.

Thanks.

C ) I like the way it is currently set up. IMO it is safe to have it on when just driving around esspecially with a car with some power like the Z. But then it is fun when you want/need it to be. Plus it really isnt that hard to turn it off when you need to.

c) I like the current set up, have it on under normal driving, will turn VDC off when I feel like racing, it only takes like 0.1 sec. to turn it off anywayz

I usually leave it on just cause I am too lazy to turn it off, but if I could default it to off, I would (and probably never use it)

Off with every start up, unless it is raining hard.

In a Lexus IS300, the switch is a normally-open momentary and the computer is edge-triggered. So, people put in a normally closed switch. That way when you turn on the car, the computer gets it's edge every time, but you can still push the button to turn it on, if you like.

I have no idea whether or not this works with the 350Z, but it certainly wouldn't be hard to verify. Finding a nice normally-closed switch that fits nicely in the same spot is the hard part.

To test that you could start the car with the button pushed. If it goes off, it will work. If not, not.

If you get in the car, push the button, then put in key and start, TCS/VDC goes off so the above info for the lexus will work for the 350z.
