Default New guy here

I have been reading here for a while and finally created my account today.

Recently I sold my 91 300ZX (miss it already) as I am wanting to get a 350Z. I have been searching for a while and am still waiting to find just the right one.

Reading some of the threads I've seen it mentioned a few times to stay away from 2006 models. Unfortunately there are only 3 pages listed so I can't search as to why exactly.

What I was looking for was a 06 Daytona Blue Touring 6sp w/leather. Now I am not so sure anymore

I think going to 07 is getting to expensive so I may need to settle for an 05 instead.

Any pointers on what to specifically look for would be appreciated.

The reason people say don't get 06 is because the revup engine in the 6MT version had oil consumption issues.

Well, lots of them did.

Mine doesn't.

Thanks for that info, I read a little bit about the oil consumption issue.

Well, if you're going with the '05, that's what I bought about 4 months ago and I absolutely love it. Found a sweet deal on it and I don't have any complaints. Nice looking 300 by the way.

agreed on the '05, it's going to be far easier to find a solid one than an '06 without major OC issues. I got super lucky is all.

of course, even if you find an '06 with OC issues, a simple re-ring would take care of it....and everyone knows when you build with forged internals for FI, that takes care of the OC stuff.

Thanks for all the info guys , I think I'm going to refocus my search for an 05 or an 07 if I can wing it.
