Spattered wheels
I've seen a few different posts concerning gray paint spattered on the wheels, and I think I have the same problem. The spatters aren't completely out of control, just a few drops here and there. I'm afraid to try to scrub it off because I don't want to scratch the wheels.
Is this a problem many people have seen? Should I try to get my dealer or NNA to replace them? Also, one of the wheels was scraped against a curb (very lightly, but scraped just the same). Will this make them less willing to replace them?

!!! I have 3 drops on 3 different wheels, I thought I did them myslef by running over road paint!
I was able to get some of it out with fingernail. The remaining left are about the size of a little bugger.
I really doubt that it's nessacery for them to REPLACE the rims. THere has to be a way to remove them easily.

i've only heard of one instance in which a dealer replaced the wheels because of the grey paint splatter (but i'm sure many more have tried). but it begs the question, what in the h@ll are they smoking at the nissan plant when they get paint on all of the wheels?

So that's what that crap is on my wheels? I always thought that it might be just manufactured that way since I have a spot on all the rims, but they're not all on the same place.
Yea, what the hell is Nissan smoking at their production line?

I saw a thread on the 350zmotoring.com site about the gray paint drops on the wheels. One respond was that the paint dot is from the factory to mark the heaviest side of the wheel to balance the wheel. Tires from the factory also come with a dot to mark the heaviest side. The marks are opposite each other to use less weights. Sounds logical!!

Cool, I did notice that most of my 'dots' were on the same part of the wheel, I just read another column that said someone had had their wheels replaced because of it. I know its not a big deal, but if I can get a new set of wheels, I'm not going to complain!

Weight and balance
Yeah, did they forget that they can MARK on the inside of the wheel instead on the shinny looking side?
It would make more sense to mark it on the side where tire weights goes on, right?
The theory sounds true, but doesn't seem logical when you think about it.
