Well this thread outlasted my Z ownership, so here is my "guest book" entry:

- 77 chevy Caprice Classic (my first car, still in high school)
- 76 Toyota something, it was a hatchback, that's all I remember (1st year in college)
- 76 Ford LTD coupe (worst car I ever owned, sold it for $500, hope its burned to the ground, never an American car again!)
- 84 Nissan something hatchback (engine blow up)
- 89 Nissan Stanza (very cool car, loved it)
- 95 Mercedes 300E (fantastic car)
- 98 Mercedes E300 (another one, loved these cars)
- 2001 Toyota Rav4 (moved to California)
- 2003 Nissan Xterra (great for Cali outdoors)
- 2004 350Z Silver Touring (best car I owned, just sold it for needing a back seat for my 10 month old son)
- 2008 Honda Accord 8th Gen Coupe BLK/BLK (had it for 1 week, so far I am impressed)

I'm 19, the Z is only my second car and a huge change if you can't tell from my first. I work two jobs so I can pay the payments and nearly $700 per 6 mo. for insurance, along with mods. So I don't think I can be called spoiled.

2001 ford f-150, 4" lift w/ 35's
2004 350z

I gotta say, if I have a 17 year old kid and they think they are spending their "hard earned" money on a nice car, they are sorely mistaken. How about help paying for the house you get to live in? What about paying for the school I put your through? How about saving your money so you can help pay for college? What about setting aside a CD for a down payment on a house when you get older?

My kids will drive beaters and they will learn to deal with it. Some kids think they make their own money, but what they really make pales in comparison to what their parents have spent/are spending on them.

Soo... If I were to walk by and smash all your windows and key every single panel, the insurance you have on it would cover it all with you just paying a deductible?

$20 says it'll be under daddy's insurance and he'll be listed as the main driver... in other words... it's his car.

I know how insurance rapes younger kids. I got laughed out of the office when I inquired about getting a policy for myself at 17.

Dude! YOU WIN!!

You are the 10,000th 17 year old on this site that is paying for a 350Z & the insurance on their own, by saving, and no help from their parents!!

89 Mitsubishi Eclipse
99 Toyota Tacoma
03 Acura rsx
And now, at the age of 30, 07 350z......

I agree with most of the older cats on this forum that a z is no 17 year old car. It's a lot of power for the average kid to handle, mixed with little/no driving experience can be a dangerous combo, but that's just my personal opinion and I'm not gonna hate. Weather you saved your fast food restaurant wages for years or are lucky enough to have daddy get it for you as a sweet 16 present.....I don't care, to each their own, enjoy it, be safe, but please, please don't rice it out!!!! I think body kits and huge spoilers just make it look cheap, truly degrades the z look. Sorry if I offend anyone with that comment, just my personal opinion.....

I think the body is perfect stock, it doesn't need anything in my opinion, not even a mini wing, I like it wingless....all it needs is wheels and maybe an inch drop and it's good to go, as far as looks are concerned of course, performance is anotha story.....I don't even like the nismo edition, with all due respect to my fellow nismo edition owners, I saw an 08 at my local dealership the other day, I don't know about that body kit it comes with.....I'm sure performance wise it's awesome, but I'm just not diggin the look...
