I say, Congrats on the future Z Raggae420. Just drive it safely and don't race in the streets. Your parents obviously care enough to let you do whatever you want with your money, dont make them regret it. Take care
I absolutely could not possibly disagree more. A good responsible kid will help their parents out as much as possible. While parents should be financially capable of raising a kid, that doesn't mean the kid should just take all he can. I would NOT let my kid grow up with that mentality. Once you have the ability to work, you owe responsibility to the family. You're a member of the family, you contribute.

When you're young, you mow the grass, do the laundry or clean the house with the parents. If you start making money, you can contribute that as well. What kind of kid gives nothing back to their parents and feels as though all the money they earn should only be theirs when their parents sacrifice so much?

Sorry, that mentality is major fail.

Respecting what they give you and paying them back are two different things. I respect the fact that my parents gave me an Xbox 360 for my birthday. But I drove a $2k dollar Saturn and worked on my dad's rental properties on my days off school because I owed it to them. They put a roof over my head and I couldn't blow my cash on a car that they would have to help me pay for.

Maybe I'm old school, but I find the whole thing really self centered.

Yeah, that's because teens make bad decisions constantly. Fortunately my parents were smart enough to know that.
