How do you grind gears. Even when I learned stick on my corolla S i never did that.. that I remember. Have the clutch half way? How hard is it to press in a clutch.. even on a Z.

A lot of kids have "situational skills" when driving... they are perfect law-abiding, by-the-book drivers when alone or with a parental unit, but become speedracers when in the presence of friends or, more importantly, company of the opposite sex.

Sort of like Goofy as Mr. Walker/Mr. Wheeler:

well i looked at his pics, 17" rims, painted stock brakes and not a LED to be found in either the tails or headlights.

https://my350z.com/forum/new-owners/...-new-350z.html

but it's okay because he started another thread to show us his car again, which is fine, but don't lie..........

no, they are clearly painted stock brakes dude. i think this kid got ripped off and believed everything the guy said who was selling the car.

Nice ownage. His parents bought him a car that he knows nothing about. Really sad.

16 - 1997 Honda Civic EX
27 - 2008 350Z

Parents bought me the the civic as a B-day gift and ran that thing for about 11 years through high school and college. Civic still runs so well that Dad wanted the car back when I picked up my Z

Like a few people mentioned, I probably could have handled a Z back in those days, but everyone's driving habits change when friends/girlfriends are involved. I would have been no different

Once you hit 40-something, it's looked at two ways:

A) You've arrived, and have reached a position in life to afford and appreciate such a car, or

B) You've entered midlife crisis and are trying to regain your youth.

As an individual, you have to say "screw 'em" and do whatever works for you. I stopped caring what people thought/said about me years ago, and have had a marvelous life because of it. Plus, I plan to drive sports cars until I'm dead, so I've got that going for me.

BTW - I know a lot of people that look at young guys that drive sport scars and giant lifted trucks and SUVS, and figure they're compensating for something with a "giant ***** car" - so it goes both ways.

Being of the younger age crowd, I'll chime in what I think when I see an "old" guy driving a sports car:

1) He's gotta be loaded
2) He's smart enough with his money to afford something like that
3) I hope I can afford a sports car at that time of my life
4) He's got ObiShawn's mentality of "screw em!"

at 17 u have girls, drinks, drugs and more stuff and the driving... so yeah ur life goes fast and u drive fast too. but then the older i get, you are more responsible, the more money i have, the more i can spend and you never go back in horse power. I think this rules applies for a lot of people. I'm glad i started young with cheap cars to destroy to learn some lessons.

the only differnce between a boy and a man is that the man can buys more expensive toys.

I'm 70 and I drive a supercharged 350Z with lots of mods.....I'm in the "screw them" category. I have owned more upscale sports cars, but I like Z's. This will be my third, along with a 91' 240SX. All were purchased new.

Fail. You can ruin your life by being irresponsible as a kid. Being smart and responsible at a young age increases chances of success as you get older.

Default Only 19 years old :)

1992 Honda Accord DX- Moms car, rolled it with 295,000 miles on it.

1994 Ford Ranger- Good times in this truck. No AC, though! Had to sell it to get outta the heat!

2007 Motobravo Enduro- Cheap Chinese motorcycle. Chicks dig motorcycles

2000 Toyota Celica GT- Loved the car, but had too many miles!

2005 Nissan 350Z Roadster- Bought it last month with 48,000 miles on it! LOVE the car, and plan on doing tons of mods.

Know that I've always paid for everything with my cars. I pay my own insurance, I pay for my own gas, and I pay cash for my cars, and I have never had help from my parents and I moved out of the house when I was 17! I work 50 hours a week and I'm going to school to to be a manufacturing engineer.I'm no spoiled teenager, and I work hard for what I have.
