This pertains to the "17 year olds getting Z's" debate...

I would have to disagree. You seem to have taken enough intrest in searching my previous posts, enough interest into questioning my purchase of an M3, even enough interest into how much it snows in NJ and if that snow falls on the roads, and enough interest into my daughter driving my 350 not to make it seem personal to you.
Let me ask, would it make adifference if she drove the 287HP Nissan or my 255HP Chrysler Pacifica?
What I really think is happening is that there are some in this forum who are upset and jealous that somone at the age of 16 is driving the same car that they, at a more advanced age, are driving. Get over it!
Just to add frosting to the cake my wife likes the new Aston-Martins, so there may be a new Aston in our garage when the M3 gets paid off in two years.

As for hinting at your shiny new car plans... lol.
I have something faster than both of those.

Yes, there is a difference if she "drove the 287HP Nissan or my 255HP Chrysler Pacifica". Horsepower has nothing to do with it. The Z is a bad car for a new, inexperienced driver on so many levels.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of people of our generation (baby boomers) that suffer your problem --spoiling their children. In fact, it's epidemic.
Question; did she ask for a Z or you just decide it would be a 'good' car for her? My 16 year old daughter asked for a new Mustang when she first got her license. I can afford it and could have gotten her one. Instead, I bought her a 1997 Honda Civic. But that's just me.
It's none of my business how you raise you kid --until it affects me. (see my previous post above) I'm just glad you live 1,500 miles away from me.
Good luck with your daughter. I don't like hearing of anyone's accident or injury on this board.

Eh?
The Z in rain is terrible. It is nothing like 90% of cars. Unless you're talking about your own made up fantasy land full of fairies and elves where Honda Accord spin out doing 20 coming off an interstate exit or get stuck in a 1/4 inch of snow.
The Z is a bad car for a new driver. Period.

Have you ever driven an S13 with any power?
Pics of wifey and other twin?
The Z is by far the worst car in the rain I have ever ownwed and comparing it to 90% of other cars on the road is ridiculous. No on e is saying it is a supercar, but it has enough power to prove our point

I agree... that's why I put it in the first place... for humor. No hard feelings over here, rather a misunderstanding on both ends. Not trying to fight or anything on here... just clarifying, that's all.
As you can see from my list, I'm pretty partial to Z's and Nissan in general, so I've found this forum to be entertaining and useful at the same time. Never had things like this when I had my last Z.
Anyway... hope the storm doesn't hit y'all too hard up there in Ohio. Have a good one and stay warm!

Traction issues are a function of both IMHO. The OEM Bridgestones were horrible in the rain, I had some Yokahmas that were worse if that is possible, and I have had Kuhmo ASX that were OK. My Sumitomos are the best I have had, Regardless, if you are used to the usual FWD vehicles these days, RWD and rain is a whole new experience, which is why there are a ton of posts about the ex Honda owners having incidents with 350's in the rain - as in "I hydroplaned across two lanes before I smacked the curb/tree/wall/other car" or "the back end came around as I went around the corner and I ...."
Regardless, in this thread, you are NEVER going to convince most of us that 16 year olds and 350's are match made in heaven. And more than a few of us have/had kids that age. Just sayin....

The Honda S2000 is bad in rain. The BMW Z4 is bad in rain. I had no problem with this car in the rain. I'm sorry but the 350Z is a smaller, lighter version of the G35. Stop making it seem like it's one hell of a sportscar. I'm a fan of the Z as much as anyone on this website but seriously, stop riding its d1ck and treating it like its a $60,000 car.
