If only them meddling kids weren't so gosh darn cocky...

All joking aside, I enjoy seeing some of the car history of the more senior members. Sometimes I wish I grew up in the 240z era. What a time that must have been...

My dad bought his first car in 1958, a 56 Plymouth Fury :P I love to hear about the cars he's had over the years.

I loved my '97 honda accord. She'll always be my first love, that's just how first cars are. We had a good 6 year run together. I intend to keep my Z till it's either being sent to the scrap yard or handed down to my son. It surely won't be his first car, however...

You know, I said the same thing about my '08 Mustang (didn't work out) and I feel the same way about the Z. I don't have any kids to hand it down to but I sure don't intend to sell it anytime soon!

My girlfriend's '07 Tiburon on the other hand... lol

A Free Z would be nice but aren't you happier knowing that you earned it yourself?

wow this thread is huge. Why doesnt this forum have a limit on post count?

Anyway I will admit to being spoiled. My parents are well off and when i turned 16 I got a

Used 2002 Base Auto RSX.

I just traded in the rsx a month ago for a

Used 2005 Touring MT 350z.

I did financing without a co-signer and I am proudly making the payments myself. Since I never paid for the rsx i never felt like it was really mine.

^ The big deal is a lot of older guys paid 30k for a car that is now worth as low as 9k. Teens are buying them up for cheap, and for that they are bitter.

Psychology major?
I have only been here a short time, but this is my take. You see the thread where the 17 year old gets a Z. Fast forward 2 weeks, to when he drifted into a telephone pole, ruining a car that is somewhat popular on this website. I would probably not be here today if the car I had at 17(VW Beetle, less than 100 HP) had as much power as my Z, and I doubt that I am the only person who would say that.
I would not allow my 17 year old child to own one of these cars. Certainly not as a first car.

On the other hand you see people like me who get one at 17 as their first car but has been driving since he he was 15. I have had an obsession and passion for cars since i was 2 before I got the Z like a month before I was begging for just any car, i remember there was a guy selling a 1986 camaro in ehh condition for 2000 and me begging my parents to let me borrow the money and that I would pay them back. I guess they trusted me and my judgement enough to reward my achievements and birthday and going off to college etc etc with a car that I wanted. Im glad they did and i dont think I let them down.
