Im almost 29. I know this is an old thread but very interesting.
I started out at 16 with a:
'67 Triumph Spitfire
'78 Z28
'90 Corsica
'75 VW Bug
'94 Mustang GT
'93 Toyota Pickup
'92 Toyota Tercel
and finally my '04 350Z
then a '95 Chevy tracker for the snow.
I got my brand new 2006 Z when I was only 18, but I joined the Marine Corps at 17, so I believe I earned it. For those that think otherwise can shove a fat one.
How does joining the USMC = you've earned a Z?
Just so you know I'm not knocking on military service, I'm 21 y/o in the Army NG, being paid as an E-6 with a commissioning date in Aug 2009, and a 3rd year/1st professional year student at Rutgers Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy) and I still don't believe I've done enough to "have earned" a Z. Aside from having great benefits from military service (tuition waiver = PharmD is free, auto insurance, etc), I'm still essentially living off my parents and pay zero expenses.
I'm not trying to start anything, but if people start talking shizz, i'm going to step up to defend myself. And no we actually have a honor code here where lying will get you kicked out. However, if you're ever in colorado and want me to show you what i do everyday it'll be my pleasure, and maybe we'll spar for a couple of rounds
Anyways, any 120lb nerd can talk shizz on the internet so I feel like this is pointless, and I feel like an idiot for stooping down to your level and talking to you idiots. For those of you that are reading this thread, I apologize, because this absolutely ridiculous. Point is, I'm young, and like 50 told me, "If they want to hate, let them hate, and watch the money pile up." haha
p.s. I serve because I want to, and not for the money ( I don't get that much anyway), I just happen to be a pretty good investor and spent the majority of the bills on the car
Hopefully the next few years at USAFA teach you something because I can't see any enlisted personnel respecting you as a platoon/squadron leader after opening your mouth on this forum.
