Unhappy Loud Whining Noise

I have this loud whining noise coming from the rear of the car at all times. Its so loud that it is begging to give me headaches driving for only a short time. Its accompanied by another sort of hissing sound, that seems to have gotten worse over time. I have had both of these sounds since about day 2 of owning this car and ive had it for about 3 months now. It got so bad that I finnaly took it to the dealer and they had it for most of the day but they "could not find the source of the sound" . They told me to come back if "it got worse", but its already at the point where i cant stand it. So if anyone has any idea what this noise is so I can atleast give the service people a place to look it would be much appreciated.

i have the same noises, but they go away after a little bit, they usually are only audible while accelling, but i believe the hissing is the fuel pump, i dont know what the whining is but it almost sounds like a turbo, so i welcome that sound! lol

I wish it was a turbo, but alas its just annoying. Also these sounds are always there, at idle, accelerating, crusing.. ect.

nub, it's probably you're rear making that noise. Has to do with the way the gears are aligned. I get the same thing at 70-80mphish. I've owned several manual cars that have done the same too

exhaust leak perhaps? best bet bring the car to a meet and let someone ride with you so they can hear it.

or try test driving another car, see if the sound is there on a brand new car off the lot.

i KNOW its not a turbo, i was just saying it's fun to pretend LOL, but then again, lakewood area has effed up curbs, and i've run off a couple of small ones while turning around, they dont make those ramps wide enough!

Default whining noise...

i've had the same problem.
at 70-75 mph. or past 80mph.
took it to the dealer said they can't do anything abou it.
then i had a little chat with the dealers owner, who told the manager to call up several places. they said it could be the gear.
i'm taking it down to the dealer next week to get it fixed hopefully.

i know exactly what your talking about i have the same thing except i have yet to go to the dealership.

ares your referring to the hissing sound due to an exhaust leak right not the whine?...hmm maybe that's it!-sounds quite logical because i feel as if my stock exhaust is not as loud as it should be...-or would that make it louder lol then again it's IMO of course=)
