Default differences in trim levels

From time to time I still look though car sites like cars.com and autotrader that show 350z's and their trim levels. I always find that for a touring, track, and grand touring, that it just looks like an enthusiast/base model.

I have a grand touring 06 which came with the lip spoiler, volk wheels (that look a little like the ones that come stock on a nismo), navi, and gold brembos.

Basically what I want to know is, are the sites just advertising trim levels wrong, or can a grand touring look like an enthusiast and still be called a grand touring?

http://bit.ly/fk4khX - that for example is a "grand touring" but the only difference I see from a standard base model is the color of the seats.

Thanks for any responses

Most car sites and even a lot of dealers have no idea what trim level the car is. Since it's not built into the VIN number, there's no official source for the info other than the Nissan computer system.

Once we start modding the cars, the trim can be changed and masked so you never really know anymore.

Yeah, just ask the wunderkids who bought a modded Base and then ***** because they didn't realize it doesn't have cruise or an LSD. I think car dealers go with whatever the previous owner told them, or maybe whatever they think will sell the car. Plus they use stock photos, not actual ones. - and they won't correct the ad even if you point out the mistakes.

like what Dave said it's possible to mask the real trim of a certain Z then sell it as a higher one.

for all you know this could be a 240 with a 350z bodykit!!!

Yes. The Enthusiast is just like the Grand Touring but different.

Bought my 2007 Base about 2.5 years ago and really had no idea of the trim levels or what came in them at the time. And I sell cars for a living!

I paid what we traded it in for($20,500, 13k miles)and just knew it was a base model. As I started driving it I was looking for the cruise control and obviously never found it lol. I was thinking how can a $30,000 car(new) not have cruise control?

look for a home link mirror and then check your brakes.

JK, there is a site that describes the subtle differences, kind of the "350ztech" differences, but in the past we couldn't post it here.
