I have cancelled my old extended warranty and have bought a new one for $1329 for 84/100,100 with 0 deduct.
is it a good deal?

Extended warranty is good for a Z if it is Nissan's warranty..
I learned you can buy the extended warranty on the day your car's factory drive- train warranty expires.
A lot of people won't have the Z long enough to use the extended warranty!
The dealer wants to sell it so they can make money on it first then money on it in the finance end.
I bought my Warranty the Nissan Gold package and paid 1000.00 for it. when I bought the car I think I would have waited until later if I would have known this then.

Folks that have the Gold Warranty, read this. BS, if you ask me, all along I thought it was from Nissan.
Looks like the Gold warranty folks went Bankrupt. If you bought it before 07 Jun 03, your screwed, it will cancel automatically. Not sure how you get your $ back though.

However, if you bought an extended warranty contract prior to June 7, 2003, your contract is no longer effective. Doesn't seem like it's worth it to me. I just got my Z a couple weeks ago. Been trying to cancel mine but the finance guy isn't making it easy. Once I get my plates I'm going back to the dealer and waiting it out until my refund is in the mail...

You can get your money back, however it will be pro-rated, and the amount will go towards your Lien, if you have a lien on the vehicle.
I doubt you will get a check unless the car is paid for.

BTW, I canceled my MAINT Plus, and the pro-rated was ridiculous.
I was charged $94 for (1) oil change.
I am sure the same will happen if you cancel the extended warranty.

I got my extended warranty money back before 60 days.
THe sales guy put my bank as lienholder on contract and I wasn't sure I would get it....he tried to tell me I can't buy one once I returned it. I told him that I used my cash downpayment for the car and warranty.He wasn't sure if I get the money back but he gave me a receipt that says pay the order to me. So I got it back.

It's only been about 14 days since I got my car and I'm leasing. He (finance guy) said it wouldn't change my monthly payments and acted like I could get a refund but he just didn't want to do it. Do you think I should be able to? I'm planning on going up to the dealer tomorrow.

Man, I got lucky again!!!! I am under Nissans Security+Plus program, Gold Preferred package. I have my service card from nissan, along with two roadside assistant cards for my walet and car. I have a pamphlet with my Vin, policy #, and transfer card incase I want to sell it (the car) to another person.
Say I dont want the warranty, I sell it (the car) and the person doesnt want to pay extra for the NISSAN warranty, and it is within the factory warranty I can return it for a full refund.
Warranty Gold I thought was an aftermarket warranty. I dont know what your dealers are trying to pull???

Extended warranty usually only benefits the dealer. There are basically only two types of people that need extended warranties.
1) Someone who bought a fairly new car and the factory warranty was not transferrable.
2) Someone who has an older car that is out of the factory warranty and the car has questionable reliability.
All others should stay away and call BS on a dealer that says you need it.

An extended warranty is just a high profit item for the dealer. It is highly unlikely that the car owner will win that bet.
After you cut your best deal buying a car, the dealer is not done with you. They are still trying to extract money from you, while your mind is filled with the great deal you cut on your brand new Z. They try to sell you extended warranties, coatings for your factory paintwork, lo-jack, loan payment insurance, etc. etc. etc.
Don't be a sucker. Decline the extended warranty (and all that other post-negotiation crap).

Any post deal add-ons should be researched to see if you really need it before accepting it. You will find that most of them have no benefit to you or they are something you can get cheaper somewhere else.

Paint Protection
Glass Etching
Anything that you don't understand or the dealer can't explain
Questionable:
Security Systems
Security Sytems add-ons
Dealer added modifications
Possible Benefit If The Price Is Right:
GAP Insurance
Factory Maintenance Contract
Of course, there are other things that could be added to this list but these are the most common.

Extended warranties are not necessary,the dealer is the only one that benefits. With the warranty you must abide by all the recommended service listed by the manufacture. If you do not have the work done or do not have it documented that it was done the warranty is null and void for not following manufactures recommendations. These are the usual 30,000 and 60,000 mile services which can cost from $600 to $1000 for them to do a tune up and change the oil. If you change you oil, other fluids and coolant regularly you should have no problems. I have a 1993 Mazda RX-7 which is supposed to have a lot of issues with engine and turbo's. I have regularly done maintaince changing oil at 3000 miles, coolant ever year and transmission fluid and rear end every 30,000 miles and have had no problems. The car has 111,000 miles and still has original motor and turbo's. It is still fast as hell and runs pretty much like when I bought it new.
