My new 350Z in Idaho
Sorry to make some people sick about this, but I did not pre-order a car. I was able to buy (at MSRP) this awesome touring 6spd and drive it home last Friday.
My breakin period is already over and she is an absolute joy to drive and a head turner. I even had a local Nissan sales guy follow me home two days ago wanting to see the car.
This car has exceeded all of my expectations and more. Having owned a 280ZX Turbo and a '86 300ZX Turbo I had high expectations. Let's just say that this car is simply incredible. FAST!!!! awesome interior and handling is phenomenial.
I might be the first one in Idaho to get the Z?????
Here are some pics to drool over.

As an aside, I went through high school in the Twin Falls area and my son's wife is from Boise.

Just to answer a couple questions:
I will be driving it year round here in Idaho. We really don't get much snow. However I will not be driving it when it does snow. I will use my wife's car with the studless snow tires - damn thing is glued to the road with those on.
As far as how I got the car --- well I was bidding on a Z on Ebay but the person selling the car wanted $4k over MSRP and I told him he was crazy. Anyway that did not work out, but later the next day a dealer emailed me saying he had a Z for sale sitting on the lot right now. Of course I feared it would be well marked up, but surprisingly it was at MSRP. I jumped and took it. I felt like I won the lottery.
Absolutely no regrets. I absolutely love this car. The car is simply stunning in person and the Daytona Blue is a sweet color and metallic. I think the interior is far better then the reviews have lead me to believe. The materials and fit and finish are on par with most good quality cars out there. The seats are simply amazing, tranny is sweet and nice light clutch with a low engagement point for easy starts off the line. Climate control systems is excellent as well. Nice COLD air.
I noticed that after the breakin period the engine had MUCH more power. Smooth and deceptively fast. Accelerating from a stop to 100mph - the car just keeps on pulling hard.
Complaints - really only a couple minor things. Visibility to the left side and rear is poor. Much worse then my previous Z cars. However it is livable. If you adjust your mirrors correctly the left side blind spot is ok. Rear visibility sucks but livable. I think the problem here is that the rear window glass does not go up high enough and the rear view mirror is a little high causing the problems.
The Bose in my touring is mediocre at best. It does have a lot of bass - too much. It drowns out the front speakers really bad. However I found that if you use the fader switch and give the fronts a little more watts then the rear it does help. The subwoofer though is quite odd. The volume of the sub seems to change based on the song quite dramatically. You are always having to turn the bass up and down alot. They must have one hell of a dB bass boost circuit for only certain frequencies.
Minor quibbles at best. For the performance, technology, fit and finish of the car it is way under priced!
