Talking Got My 2004 with all changes!

Well I think. I just got my 2004 Track and it has soft touch cauges, new nav lid and knee pads. Since this is my first Z I have no idea if this has the new suspension and new braking setup for the brembos. My car was built in October. Can't believe I finally got it!!!

Mine is an o4 as well. I have heard the rumor of a new suspension but have not been able to verify it yet. If it does happen, the suspension will be a mid year change and woun't be on your car... or mine.

I was reading the UK 350Z forum and someone mentioned that they have buttons on their steering wheel to change tracks on the CD and to change radio presets. Do you have this on your USA 04?

No radio controls. Just cruise control.

I do have these weird small metal things on the inside of my passenger rear rays rim. I think someone else might have mentioned this. I have no idea what they are.

The material is slightly softer on the gauge pods. You wouldn't be able to tell in a picture.

The door handles are now metal. I believe they were plastic in the earlier versions.

my door handles are silver, but I dunno if they are plastic or metal. I don't have any of the pads, and my guage tops are hard (look the same tho). I have a roadster, therefore 2004, but it must be an early build. do these changes go in the roadster too?

BTW, that lady in Dr. Bonz's pic needs to open her vents!

I have queried the hell out of NNA reps lately trying to determine if my 04 Touring (7/03) has the so called new Soft Suspension System.. The rep (Bianca) says the car has the new Suspension.

I ask what changed. She says a new multilink support frame, new shocks , new springs.. I say great but how can I confirm what you are telling me. She says wait ...comes back and says all 04's have the new system.. I say but I dont have all the other changes that were made. She still insists on the Suspension ..

I, still not convinced call the service mgr where I bought the car. Ask him the question and he says "haven't heard of any new Soft Suspension System".. I finally aske him to look at the 04 Service Manual to see if there are differences between 03's and 04's.

He agreed and will let me know monday..

Ahh.. the JDM Fairlady Z I saw in Japan earlier this month also had the soft center console lid. I almost forgot about that. It also had the knee pads that I put up pics for in this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....563#post519563 .

I saw a JDM Fairlady Z roadster as well, and I think it had the softer center console lid. Also, both seemed to have no cruise control but had what I believe are buttons for the stereo on the wheel. See https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....099#post527099 .

My 04 Z doesn't have the knee pads or the padded center console lid. I'll have to check about the gauges...
