I herd talk of the Skyline coupe getting AWD when they come out with a GTR version in 05/06.It might also get some type of FI or a VH45DE? All talk though no telling how much is true.

AWD is good for snow and mag tests. for all those times that your not doing 5000RPM clutches(and the associated clutch changes) or rally racing; rwd will be the more efficient and lighter setup.
AWD would be good for quarter mile racing, hence why the Z can keep up with the STI and Evo on a track pretty well yet gets killed on the quarter mile. oddly IMO tho, a 4cyl car boosted or not has no place on a quarter mile strip. if you do insist on 4cyl of performance fury, it had better be light as hell and rev to the sky(ex. S2000 pre-2.2L with the old 9k redline)
none the less awd provides great traction on straight aways, and will of course be available on the GTR which from what Ive heard will be a seperate entity from the skyline(G35 in USA) that it was always tied to. but that is a different beast altogether, a different class in racing; and of course a different performance and price bracket.
