Default annoyed - lack of exposure

i found that it is quite hard to spot 350z exposure in magazines...

RX8 creates a much bigger hips.

it really makes me feel in a way, "DID i make the wrong choice".

Depends on what you want. Do you want a better faster car or do you want magazine exposure?

This is also assuming that your statement is correct in the first place. I have seen WAAAAY more ads/stories on the Z than I have for the RX8.

I remeber when the Z first came out. We got plenty of magazine coverage. I don't know how much more do you want.

Most "automotive" magazines are only good for one thing...helping to pass the time while you're trying to pass one in the toilet.

Gotta agree with you there, Doc....I've seen about five 350z articles for every one RX-8 article thus far.

When the Z came it out it was all over ALL the magazines ALL the time. Then again when the Roadster came out.

Now the RX8 is the falvor of the month. Magazines gotta move on.

Well, you've gotta figure it from a business perspective. If the car is selling well and it's popular you won't see as much exposure on the market. If you can't sell them, then you've got to try and pay off celebrities like Brittany to sell 'em. Catch my drift?

Have you ever noticed that when a movie is selling really well you don't see too many commercials for it? If a movie is going to suck, you'll see MASSIVE amounts of advertising before it's released... Remember GodZilla? That was in the theatres for what? A month?

Hype is just that, dont let it bother you for a second. Unless you really need a back seat or additional storage space, the Z is cleary superior to the RX8. If you disagree with that statement, you are wrong

How can one be annoyed by a lack of exposure? The RX8 is generating nowhere near the buzz that the Z did when it first came out. Go to the RX8 message board. I've never seen more people writing negative stuff about their car. Relative to this board or an S2k board, the worst press the RX8 is getting is from its own users.

Common complaints are that its down on power (Mazda recently revised its stated HP LOWER), gets terrible gas mileage, doesn't have enough torsional rigidity, and has a variety of bugs and glitches.

If you're basing your car purchases on press coverage, you should get the Toyota Prius. Its been getting a heck of a lot of good press these days, probably more than the RX8...

Just a thought...

Well, I am not really annoyed. just need a catching titile. However, at least I am sure in Asian country, there's really more reviews on RX8 than the 350z.

I am not saying that RX8 always on any magazine, I am just saying its more than 350z.

Well, the actual complaints that I have is its not easy to find a magazine that talks about 350z, probably its consider as 2003 car. While its not old enough yet to appear on magazine that talks about modification such like supra.

That may be true NOW, but try to follow what we are telling you.

When the Z was new (over a year ago) it had way more coverage than the Rx-8 is getting now and it was much more positive press.

If you buy an RX-8 for the CURRENT press coverage you will just be out of luck in a couple of month when the "next big deal" comes out. You remember when the mini cooper came out. It was EVERYWHERE.

Just go to a library and look up some older issues. The Z dominated the magazine circuit for months when it came out.

I amausre S2000 guys were saying the same thing about a year and a half ago - it too was the flavor of the month for WAY longer than a month till the Z stole its thunder.

The car has ben out for over a year now - how much covvergae do you need? Everything has been said about it at this point - I mean, its not like this car revolutionized anything (aside from Nissan's image, finally!)

Maybe in Malaysia, the car did not make a big splash? Well, the UK is just getting the car now, so try checking out Evo, CAR and Top Gear Magazines.

Good point. I remember those days when everything was about the S2K. I was sort of bummed when I realized it was too small for me to be comfortable inside. Then suddenly everything was about the Z. Now I guess it is the RX-8s turn.

Heck I think the S2K stole the spotlight from the Mini Cooper S.

I have no idea what u are talking about, I read my friend's car magazines, he subcribes like 10 diff magazines from import tuner to honda vtec, etc and I saw way more Z photos than RX8. Look at whos buying RX8, most of them are ppl with kids and how much money do u think they will spend upgrading their cars? Thats why most car magazines use Z to advertize their products.
