A duck and about 8-9 ducklings were crossing the highway. They were almost to the very left lane (carpool lane). I swerved right to avoid hitting them. The ducks and ducklings kept marching forward. So I look in my rear view mirror and see a white civic speeding fast. I guess that person in the civic couldn't swerve so it hit the duck and all the ducklings full on. As the civic made an impact on the ducks, All i saw was water/blood splash everywhere, like if the civic went over a huge puddle of water....
I was sad that day because of this....the duck and ducklings were so cute...
Thought I would share.

I once saw a mother kitten give birth to 9 pink kittens right in the middle of the road. I fired my rocket boosters and launched myself into the nearby houses to avoid hitting them, paralyzing me from the neck down. As I strained my eyes to look back at them, through the bloody carnage that used to be my body, I saw a guy in a pickup truck drive over them one by one really slowly so that their eyeballs exploded out of their heads. He laughed the whole time.

Just thought I would share so you could have nightmares.

Poor kitty! I took out a fat porcupine in '09. No damage to the front bumper but it popped one of the bottom plastic panels along the drivers side causing it to scrape bottom. I had quills in some areas, also some went into the inside front tires.

Easy fix on the lift. I had to replace a fastener.

Duckling story is sad.

I hit a squirrel with the AV once... it was running across the road, and it would have made it if it hadn't started spazzing out and running around in the middle of the road.

I was riding shotgun in the AV at night a couple years ago when we came up on some unavoidable debris in the road and the noise as we ran over it was absolutely horrible... then my brother said 'omg that was a turtle.' I still feel awful over that... I can still hear the sound it made.

What a bummer of a thread!

I wasn't referring to your typo... I was referring to the stupidity of humans. We're the same as the stupid, senseless animals you criticize. When you begin to say, "But, look at all the things we've accomplished," realize that those are few, select people. The majority of humans are stupid.

Had a encounter with a fox once. Pretty funny could not stop thinking about it all day.
I was driving to a friends house. I had to pass a area known for deer crossings and crap. Well it was getting kind of dark so I turned my headlights on to notice some eyes looking at me from a distance. Well it was a fox who noticed me and waited til I was closer to make his move. He dashed out in front of me made it 3/4 of the way to the other side then turned around and went back. I was about 40ft away when it happened. I just shook my head.

I'm amazed at how some animals are dedicated to raising their young. Being confused and living in an unnatural environment, they sure as hell take care of their offsprings despite the challenges. Too bad and sad that I can't say the same for all people.

speaking of birds...does it seem like birds poo on blue cars more often than other colors? Both me and my brother have blue cars(which he bought from me) and there is always crap on ours in the spring. Dad has a Grey truck that rarely gets hit.
