Default Handbrake light coming on while driving?

Anyone else? My hand brake light has been coming on intermittently for the last week or so. It seems to happen on hard braking and hard acceleration. The only thing that has changed in this time is the weather is colder now.

I have not looked into fixing it yet, just wondering if anyone else has seen this. And before you ask. . .no the parking brake is not engaged.

Check your brake fluid, I believe the light is dual purpose. It indicates the parking brake is on and also low brake fluid.

Very nice! I actuallly checked it yesterday and it was just over the min line. I will add some more. Now I got to go find my bottle of AP. I dont want to have to buy another bottle of that!

That is probably it, since it is at minimum, when you apply the brakes the fluid will go down and maybe go below minimum and when you let go of the brakes the fluid goes back up.

Be careful not to put too much in if you are close to changing pads, because you will have to drain a lot if it full and you put new thicker pads on.
