I realize this thread has been dead for a while; however, Adam's case is still pending: his next court date is 12/18/2017. I have reached out to Jessica Lightstone (the prosecuting DA) on several occasions, and not heard anything back, ever. Has anyone had any contact with the Suffolk County DA? I have contemplating appearing at the next court date.

I haven't heard anything about this case in a looooooonnnnnnnnnngggggg time. The last time I had any contact about this case was on 5/11/16 from the detective that is involved with this case. Things like this take forever to take care of. I keep an eye on this thread from time to time, but I do agree that this thread is kinda dead. I guess we all are just waiting for a verdict in a way.

Robert- even if he goes to jail we can still take him to small claims court for up to $5K, correct? And with the criminal conviction already in the books it should be a no brainer, yes?

Cheers,
Steven

Now I’m confused, it says the felonies have been dismissed and he is being charged with a misdemeanor.... so he’s not going to jail..

I hope Det Ripp calls...

Is this because no one showed up to testify against Adam? The last time I talked to detective Ripp I said I would. Unless Adam has a really good lawyer.

This would really **** me off if he just gets a slap on the wrist. I tried taking him to small claims court but the hard thing about it is that you have to serve Adam with papers after you win small claims court. At the time he kept moving around and then got arrested. So I am confused and lost as well.

I told Det Ripp I would testify as well...

I called and left a message for the DA, you may want to do the same so they know we are concerned. We’ll see if she calls us back...

Sure. Do you have the number (if you don't want to give it out just send a pm) or did you just called the court and went through the prompts to connect the call?

The DA said dipshit stole ~$85K..

As a result, he will be convicted of two misdemeanor crimes that go on his record, he will receive 36 months of supervised probation, and he is to payback $36K over those three years... so each one of us will receive a few dollars a month.. in addition there should be restitution judgment orders for the remainder of what he owes but we most likely will never see that money...

I’m also looking into small claims for the remainder...

Well after playing phone tag with the DA office I finally got in contact with Jessica Lightstone. She is a very nice lady and knew of the concern as to the judgement of Adam Bloom.

He will be sentenced on December 18th 2017. The DA had to prove "larceny by false promise." Since he did give some parts to some people it was hard to prove that Adam was selling car parts under false pretense of actually giving us the part we order.

On the 18th he is suppose to get a restitution judgement where he is suppose to pay $1000 dollars back per month up to about 85K. If he does not do this he will be going to jail. This is what I understood from when I spoke to the DA.

I honestly don't see Adam paying back that much let alone pay 1K every month. Especially, if he is not working.

Does anyone know if Adam is even working?

i'm under the impression the $1000 a month is only while he is on probation, which is 36 months so a total of $36K and not $85K... I hope i'm wrong but that's what I took away from the conversation with Jessica...

I too am willing to bet he ****s this up with hubris as well...

in any event, I will spend some time everyday searching the internet looking for any companies he may try and start and just warn any potential customers of my experiences...

agreed... but I'm sure he is still paying his lawyer too and I bet his lawyer is making sure he gets paid first.... thus only a $1000 towards the people he stole the money from..

but at the end of the day I guess I'm laughing my *** off at him... he's paying his lawyer, he's paying his victims, he's a convicted criminal, probably has limited job options, and has to look his family in the eye and try to convince them that he's not a complete loser... gotta be a tough situation...

I received a letter that requires me to submit my claim for restitution, today. If you receive a similar letter, please make sure to fill out the form and return it so that you may be reimbursed.
